The Asgardian Spirit

Chapter 1 - A Frosty Reception

Asgard was enjoying one of it's fine summer days with a touch of bitter cold. People were busy gathering in the centre for the market and the air was full of chatter and laughter. But outside of Asgard, deep within the woods, a wolf was keeping guard over what looked to be a dead body that had just appeared out of nowhere. But it wasn't dead, the body belonged to that of Valgard, a man who had been abandoned by people who he had once looked up to. They were sick of his intense moods and heavy drinking. He woke up, finding the wolf staring right at him and he just shrugged "Oh, you looked after me?" The wolf responded by pawing him in the face and then licking him. "Hmm, think that is a yes then!" He pulled himself up onto a log and he pulled the wolf near him. The wolf howled  and then took off. "Goodbye, I shall call you Noxus!"

Valgard struggled to walk through the woods but he somehow managed it. No sooner had he got to a close by stone house, he collapsed and a man with a hammer in his hand came to his aid. "Hello brother, where have you come from?" The man asked him as he pulled Valgard inside and onto a bed. "I came from the woods, I was abandoned there by so-called friends!" He replied rather weakly. "My name is Thor, I shall give you food and water, please rest!" Thor said warmly. He then left the room to fetch the food and water. Valgard's mind started running wildly to the memories of him as a young boy playing together with another boy who looked just like Thor.  His flashback ended abruptly when Thor returned.

"Here you go, this will help!" Thor smiled. "Thank you Thor. My name is Valgard. You are my brother!" Valgard responded whilst staring at Thor, trying to read his face. Thor's eyes widened in shock, and he dropped his hammer onto his foot. "Ouch!" He roared as he limped to a chair.  Valgard let out a belly laugh and said "You haven't changed much!"  Thor went to give him the evils but he couldn't do it, he jumped back up and knelt down next to Valgard. He cupped his face and said "I have missed you! We need to get you to mother and father!" Valgard smiled and replied "Yes but not yet, I must rest!"  Thor acknowledged this and said "I'll come back later!" He got up and left the room so Valgard could sleep. 

Noxus came bounding into the room and curled up next to Valgard. They were clearly going to be inseparable.
