Chapter 9 - Old Bulgaria

Valgard, Thor,Xena, Loki and Valka all landed in Old Bulgaria to the sound of screams and fighting from afar. "Quick, over there!" Xena cried as they all went charging towards the battlefield. Valka grabbed hold of an enemy soldier and flung him upside down before slaying him on the spot. Loki and Thor were already working their way through the others and Valgard summoned Noxus to howl. Noxus did this and the enemies fighting all fell down to the floor. "Xena, where do you want us to go?" Valgard asked her. "Into that castle, the main enemy we're looking for is going to be hiding in there!" She replied.

They soon found themselves in the main hall of the castle where Xena came face to face with Callisto. "Ah, you came back and I see your puny friends are with you!" He smirked as Thor's face contorted with rage. "Where the hell is Gabrielle?" Xena screamed as she charged towards him. "A man never shares his secrets!" He spat back and these words forced the hands of the others to take action. Thor and Loki teamed up to surround Callisto who sent them both flying with his fists. Valka slid towards him and he fell to the floor whilst Valgard with his lightning bolts sent them into the heart of Callisto. "AARGHH!" he cried! And then silence fell.

Suddenly Venom/Eddie came running through the door. Venom licked his lips and said "Can I eat this one?"" Xena looked at him with complete shock and bafflement but she nodded yes. Venom devoured Callisto and smiled "Thank you! And hello Valgard!" Valgard just rolled his eyes as Eddie took over. "Jesus! Sorry about that! I thought we smelt danger!" Erm Xena, Nick Fury wants to speak to you, hence why I am here!"

Thor guffawed and said "Are you a part of Avengers now Eddie?" Eddie nodded at him and replied "Actually yes, and also Valgard, there's someone outside who wants to speak to you!"

Valgard replied "Okay, take Xena and Valka back brothers, Eddie you go too! I will need to do this alone" and he left the others as the portal opened up for them to go back to Asgard. He left the main hall and walked back outside of the castle to find a woman looking at him with a smile on her face.

" Long time no see Valgard!" Carol Danvers whispered as she came towards him. His eyes welled up and he immediately hugged her. "You found me! How? Did you know I was abandoned?" He asked her. "Yes I did and I will tell you who abandoned you but let's go somewhere private!" She replied. She changed into Captain Marvel and picked Valgard up and they flew away up into the galaxy.

They soon came to a ship and Carol led them to a room laden with technology. "Look at this!" She beckoned to him. He turned to look and gasped in horror as he realised who it was that had abandoned him. His eyes welled up.....
