October had gone by, tending to the men's wounds. It was normal for the most part. Dean was behaving how he usually did, even in his condition. you could see Sam was different, upset. He was interacting with dean just as he always did, but you, that was something else entirely. He seemed to shy away from your touch more and more as the week went on. he tried to do the bare minimum when it came to your training in case finding. All of his behavior, confusing. One second, he could be sweet, calling you to check in and the next; he could be distant, trying his best to not interact. It was obvious that his attitude was changing towards you. It made your heart hurt but you couldn't pin point why...
Thanksgiving was up and coming, this Thursday to be exact. You've heard the men talk about many hunters that they grew close with. two women named Jody and donna, they took care of some of the kids that were unfortunate enough to lose their parents to monsters or unfortunate enough to run into hunting in some other way. There was a young girl that came up a lot when Sam and dean would talk to her over the phone, Claire. She had managed to clear half a vamp nest on her own, 'a misfit kid with lots of spunk' is how they described her.
Jody was hosting a thanksgiving get together, a lot of hunter family would be there. So naturally, your stomach was tied in knots about it. Sam and dean seemed to be ecstatic about the event and dean wanted you to be too.
Thursday rolled around and you were shitting bricks. Your mind racing, fearing you wouldn't be accepted. Months with the Winchesters and you've closed one case, a salt and burn; then there's a teen killing vamps. You were nervous to put it mildly. Choosing to Dress casually, you meticulously planned your outfit. Putting on some form fitting jeans, a black muscle shirt which revealed lots of skin and allowed your muscles to show through then you styled your hair how you liked it most; it wasn't how you usually chose to dress yourself, most of the clothing you wore took after the men you were living with, lots of flannel and big jeans. Both of which hid your best attributes.
"How do I look?" you asked, giving the brothers a slow 360 spin as they were sitting in the library. It was the most they've seen of you. Besides dean catching you in your underwear.
Putting their tiredness aside, Sam and dean sat upright in their seats, there face turning a light red.
"You look great" the men said in unison.
Since it was a 6-hour trip from the bunker to Sioux Falls dean thought it best to wake everyone up and get ready at 9 in the morning so you all would arrive at noon, just when the get together started.
There were a few cars parked outside of the home, a rusty pickup, a SUV and a coop car. Dean smoothed down his clothing, as well as Sam's, before he knocked on the door.
"Hey boys!" a woman gleamed as she opened the door.
"Hey Jody." dean hugged.
"Long time no see." Sam said as he embraced her as well.
"And this is-"
"This must be... (y/n)? Right?" her smile still so bright, she shook your hand. "I've heard a lot about you!"
"Really?"
"of course!" she said as she gestures you all in. "every time I talk to either one of them, you come up."
'Really?'
Showing you to the dining table there was already a few people seated, a older man wearing a cap, a man who looked to be around Sam and deans age, and two young girls; one blond with dark eyeliner and the other, brunette.
As you walked in, visible to the men; they stood up.
"Bobby this is (y/n). (y/n) bobby." dean introduced.
