Mark's PoV
I was shocked by what happened. Lou threw Reyes and jumped off the window.
I went forward only to witness both of them falling to their demise. The last word I heard from Lou was a form of declaration and rebellion.
He and Reyes both hit the ground and soon thereafter blood started to stream out from their bodies.
"Reyes!" I cried out but it was too late to do anything. The paramedic who were on the ground immediately took him in as his pulse was beating lightly. However, Lou died on the spot.
Immediately, Reyes was taken to the ICU and the operation started. I held my breath as the fear of losing my only best friend, loomed on my head. Reyes and I always use to cheer out for each other. He always stood up for me when I needed him. He was everything to me.
But now when he needed me the most, I failed him. I won't be able to forgive myself if anything happened to him.

After awaiting for a few more minutes, the doctor came out with a saddened expression.
I somewhat understood that it is not a good news. But I still wanted to hear him out. There was this slight hope and I want to stick with it.
"What happened?" Edward asked him.
He was awaiting there with his teams for Reyes. But it was a surprise to see him asking about him whom he hated.
The doctor sighed and said, "I am sorry. But he is now no more."
The news came back as a shock for me.
"What do you mean? How come it be!?" I shouted.
"Mr. Mark. I understand what you're feeling. We tried our best to save him but the blood loss was too much and the impact he got caused severe rupture at his brain nerves. I'm sorry." He said soberly and left.
My worst fear took on its form and now I lost my only best friend who understood me. I am truly lost and alone now.
Tears formed in my eyes and I cried out, hoping that whatever I am experiencing is false and that I am dreaming. And suddenly I woke up!
I sat up on the bench and recalled that what I saw was a nightmare. The doctor told us that Reyes was in a coma. However he is recovering from the injuries and only a miracle could help him wake up.
It's a bitter news but a hope remains unlike the nightmare I had. The case is now officially going to be closed as all of the evidence and the confession of Lou Reed being the murderer has been confirmed. However, I have a feeling that there is something we are missing.
Some questions are still left out though such as who took in the cigarette and smoked at Sandy's house. Why was she thrown off the balcony, if Sandy was already dead? Where is Miley's dad? Who killed Boni? And who was the enigmatic person who tricked us?
If you had been awake, we might have figured it out. I sighed.

The Next Day
I headed to the Forensic Lab to get the report of the DNA found on the cigarette butts.
Mr. Parveen informed me today at early morning and told me that they matched the dna and the findings will shock everyone. And so here I am to know about their new discovery.
"Mr. Parveen?" I called out to him as he handled some documents.
He looked up at me and nodded.
"You came on time. Mr Edward is coming here as well." Parveen said. He took out a brown file and opened up.
