"I don't understand any of this," She exclaims, throwing her hands in the air in frustration.

She glazes over her lips with her tongue, she hopes for a response.

"You have to try, Ivy. Love isn't simple." His anger suffocates the air in the room, leaving her suffering for air.

"I-I can't." She stutters. "I love you." Words fall from her dry lips.

He turns his face away from her. "No, no you don't."

The thought kills her, she attempts to hide it, burying it beyond hundreds of memories spent with the blue eyed boy.

But deep in her lucid mind, she agrees with him.

2 weeks later;

He staggers down the street, his veins brim with the sounds of change clicking, and the drunken laughter of bachelors celebrating their last days as unmarried men. He runs a hand across the brick wall, rubbing his eyes. His gaze is blurry, but in the distance he deciphers familiar faces. His lips quiver. He withdraws his hand from the rough feeling of the wall, rubbing them to together.

He continues to wobble unsteadily towards the facial expressions of sympathy. The eyes gaze at him, and the worried looks leave him unsettled.

Luke speaks with them, and they offer to help. He shakes his head, refusing their sympathy. He decided he doesn't need anyone, he continues to keep his promise. His shaky hands assist him to stand up, as he leaves the thoughts of his love hanging in the air.

"She doesn't love me, anymore." His intoxicated mind ponders, every notion killing his being.

-

1 month later;

Her hands tremble, and her unsteady breaths create a barrier between her and reality.

She picks up the phone, dialing the number that once brought joy to her life.

It rings and rings, but to no avail.

"Listen, please. I just don't know what to do to myself anymore. I ran out of options. Since we parted ways, no punishment has been this difficult, this, it self, is driving me wild. I did so many bad things to you, so many awful things. I left you when all you wanted to do was be kind to me. I know, I know what I'd done is unforgettable. I fall as a victim of my own consciounse everyday, my thoughts are drowning in you. You're trying to move on, and so am I, but I can't. I tried so hard, so so hard. I want you to be happy. I promise you, every time single time you felt as if I didn't love you with all the bits and pieces of the broken affection that remains in me was inaccurate." She pauses, her words smother her, but what she doesn't realize is with every word she's spoken, he chokes. She takes a deep breath, continuing. "I'm sorry."

And in a sad voicemail, she poured the contents of her heart into the overflowing jug of words she never said.
