when all my beautiful traits fade,
like leaves in autumn,
when all my enchanting edges,
wither like wrinkles on old skin,

then,

then i'll walk you to the door,
you'll look at me apologetically,
i'll mumble a goodbye,
close my eyes,
open them again,
you'll be gone.

the empty space will hear my emptier screams,
the earth will bear my hopeless weight,
the wind will caress my cheeks,
the rain will rinse off my tears,
and the fire, will get me through the night.
