Leo's P.O.V
Two weeks I had been on the mend. When I arrived, I was weak and frail. Exhausted beyond belief. A shell of my old self. All because my new instincts longed for the protection and nurturing only a mate could provide. See for any normal person this would be fine but for me it was against my nature. Ever since I was little, I had learned to take care of myself. So, when one day about a month ago I developed this crippling desire for someone to care and protect me, I fought it. And let me tell you, you should not fight elvish instinct. For three weeks I fought my now baser instincts until I collapsed.
When I awoke, it was to quite a shock. I had roused to be greeted by two of the most handsome men I had ever set eyes on. The first man had stormy gray eyes with dark brown curls. He had an angular face and a sharp nose. The second man looked younger with light fluffy brown hair and sharp green eyes. I noticed both men had pointed ears like my newly acquired ones. I swiftly concluded from their elvish appearances and the fact I felt a strong longing to be held and coddled on by these two strangers that these two men were my mates.
The fact that they were male was not nearly as shocking as the fact that there was two of them. From my extensive research of the elvish species, I knew it wasn't rare to have more than one mate. But I never thought it would happen to me. They introduced themselves as Asher and Oliver and we talked for quite a while trying to get to know each other. I learned Asher was thirty-five and Oliver was twenty-eight. I learned Oliver was a master of elvish potion making and Asher came from an established family of elven businessmen and was a dominant elf. We spoke of both serious and trivial things before I began to nod off. My deeply rooted exhaustion still ever present. They immediately noticed my change in mood and they both wished me a goodnight. They kissed my temple in turn and Oliver tucked me in before they quietly left the room.
I turn from my thoughts as the door clicks open. Oliver strides in his sleeves rolled up his forearms. He looks devilishly handsome his hair was slightly ruffled from his work over a hot cauldron throughout the day.
"Good afternoon, Leo. I came to discuss with you whether you would like to complete your inheritance." He pauses. "You are well enough and there is a potion to complete the change painlessly."
I take a moment to consider. "I think I'd like that."
"Well then it's settled you will take the potion under Asher's and my supervision after dinner tonight." Oliver states with a small smile.
I can see the relief in his eyes. I know he would never force me into anything, but he was glad I choose this option as it is quick and painless. "Do you know what Maylee has prepared for dinner?" He shrugs. "I hope it's her chicken burgers. They have definitely become my favorite meal."
"Well let me get Asher and I will meet you in the dining room." He smiles and turns to retrieve Asher from his office.
I am still getting used to the fact I now lived in a mansion or as Oliver has told me quite a few times a manor. It is strange to have people serve my every need. It has taken me nearly a week to learn to navigate the house by myself not to mention the grounds. I refresh myself and head down the stairs to the family dining room. When I arrive Asher and Oliver have already arrived and seated themselves. I stand in the door and observe them. They look so content and satisfied in each other's company. And I wonder; not for the first time, where I fit into this equation. They turn from their conversation to me, and they smile.
"No need to stand there Leo. Come join us. Please." Asher greets with a warm smile. My face flushes. I am still not used to their simple familiarity and adoration. I cast my eyes down suddenly shy I walk to my seat to the left of Asher. I mumble a greeting and sit nibbling at the chicken parmesan Maylee had made for us. Oliver and Asher carry on easy conversation. They try to incorporate me into the discussion, but I am not focused on the conversation. "Leo? Leo."
