A lot's on your mind the day after, when you find yourself yet again wondering through one of Shibuya's little parks.
The air weighs you down as you move. Entering fall, soon to be Halloween, it tugs your lips at the rain that still remains.
You long for it to never disappear, heart in your throat at the streets that will soon be painted in white.
Hopefully, an ugly red doesn't splatter over the canvas.
The small carton box full of bandages moves forward with a push of your hand, having gone to the nearest store once you spotted a bruised boy wincing around.
He's still where you left him, leaning against the wall and cupping his cheek. The lone eye, not covered due to bruising, rolls your way as you approach.
"Here." With a swift move of his hand, he catches your lazy throw. You stand to his side, side eyeing his movements. "Can I ask how the hell you got this beat up?"
He grumbles under his breath, pushing himself off the wall and wobbling over to the swings in front. You follow his unsure steps, arms meaning to cage him if he is to fall.
"Baji did it." He plops down onto the seat, exhaling before his legs sway him over at a steady pace.
On the other hand, your brows shoot up at the dear name. A grimace doesn't take long to settle on your face, aware that it is Baji he's mentioning.
"Can't be surprised." You mumble, shaking your head as your shoe swims around the sand.
The boy chuckles, single eye on the grey skies completed with the smallest of smiles you catch.
"He's amazing, isn't he?"
Before you can flash a grin of your own, the action dies out. Now replaced by the curling of your lips, eyes narrowing down his frame.
"I think there's better words out there that fit him." You nod to yourself, soft pulling on your bottom lip.
Although, he doesn't seem to get it. He jumps on the spot, closed hand hitting his open palm at your misunderstood suggestion.
"You're completely right! Amazing doesn't cut it." With his index finger and thumb, he rubs his chin as his head lightly tilts. "Mind-blowing, thrilling, awesome— extraordinary!"
In response, you give him the slowest blink paired up with wide —unimpressed— eyes.
You take your time in turning the other way, rolling your eyes and giving out a short snort. The blonde's stare on your back's expectant, feet jumping back and forth.
"Let's just leave it at amazing," Glancing down, you utter under your breath. "I guess."
Autumn's wind flies past you both, carrying leaves along with silence. You take notice of the shine dimming in the boy's eyes, plastering a frown on your lips.
"So..." You carry out, pushing away the topic of his most likely close friend leaving. "What's your name?"
His blue eyes sparkle with something unknown, yet nostalgic. He fiddles with a simple bandage he took out the box, the childish design getting a snort out of him.
It's then that the faint trembling of his hands' evident to you. That Baji's departure is having its effect.
But isn't that what departures are all about? They hurt.
"I'm Chifuyu, Matsuno Chifuyu." The deeper undertone in his voice becomes a sweet sound for your ears.
Forcing a smile on your face, gaze set somewhere far from the swings, you motion for your name.
