"I threw myself to the wolves, only to learn of the tenderness in their howl, and the loyalty in their blood."

WHITECAP, MINNESOTA
NOVEMBER 9TH, 20XX
DAY 4Jami urged the copper mare underneath her to stop once they reached the open clearing at the top of the hill. The redhead sighed and patted Rebels neck, staring out at the frozen valley. The hills that created the horizon were mere outlines with the dense fog of clouds that held the next layer of snow. The forest and river underneath the hills were a sight for sore eyes, so Jami came out here often to ease her mind. She actually used her training sessions to come out and see this view twice in one day, once on Zeppelin and once on Rebel since it was quite a journey to and from this tranquil hideaway.
It's been four days since your disappearance, and everything at home has been a shit show, to say the least. Not only were the packs beginning to fight again now that you were gone, but they were also dealing with the chaos that was none other than Trafalgar Law. Every time she came up to this spot, she thought of that day a few weeks ago when you and her had brought Rebel home. The mare had turned into a wonderful riding horse and Jami had been excited to share the training journey with you, since you always liked to hear about their progress and fallbacks.
She was running on empty and auto-pilot all at the same time, though she was holding up much better than Marco and Ace were. At the beginning, they were stoic and strong, though they were also miserable and worried enough that Ace could barely sleep—and he always slept. At this point both of them were in the same boat as Jami.
The only thing keeping Gizmo's motor running was her toddler. She had no time to grieve or worry about her best friend when she had Itzel to take care of. Not to mention that she was taking the supportive toll of her husband's attempts at controlling Laws outbursts. She would've gone into a vegetative state had it not been for the tiny half-lycan running around her house.
Kinsey was distracting herself with work, running on no sleep and startling at every shadow. The sight she'd seen that fateful night had sent her into a dark part in her history, so she did her best to keep herself awake to avoid dreaming about it. Not to mention the fact that she felt wholly responsible for the outcome of you being kidnapped from your own home since she left you there.
Winfrey was somehow able to remain calm in the situation. Perhaps it's because she had faith that you would come home soon, or because her adoptive brother was so volatile and animalistic in nature that one wrong step could make him snap. She couldn't even say that the man she saw today was the same Law as five days ago.
Shanks and Mihawk were doing their best to maintain the situation as much as they could. They had contacts all over Minnesota that they had access for a large search and rescue group to cover the expanse of it, but their hands were tied when it came to outside the state. Shanks could only handle so much of the drama when it came to you being taken again, so he preferred to stay in town where he could keep an eye on the confused and panicked packs.
Mihawk on the other hand was more than willing to leave town. He hated all the arguing and drama occurring within, so he took the first chance he got to flee the scene with another thing in mind: a lead. Of course, it had to be a good distance away from Whitecap, 50 miles, but the lycan didn't mind. He always enjoyed a good run by himself.
