I hope you look at the moon and know that I'm looking at it, too.

JANUARY 13TH, 20XX
DAY 69
COLVILLE NATIONAL FOREST, WASHINGTON

Shortly after Christmas, the doctor was due to come back out to the manor with his portable x-ray machine to check up on your ankle. Unfortunately, that never happened since a blizzard started on the holiday and did not let up until two weeks after. Yonji informed you the day before the doctor would arrive so you'd be prepared. After said holiday, you asked the lycan to take you back down to the wing that Kira and Astrid also stayed in. He did as you asked without questioning or arguing with you.

The fact that you had been intimate with him was mind-numbing. You weren't sure why you had agreed to it. It wasn't a bad instance, per say, but every part of it felt entirely wrong. The main reason why you were avoiding him was because looking at him made you sick to your stomach. You wish you had the answers, but it was probably because you had betrayed Law in the most ultimate way. Despite that sickening feeling you got when you saw him, that did not stop your instincts from feeling magnetized to him.

You haven't been up in his suite since then, and you were more than thankful for it. Just last week he came down for a visit and you were surprised to find the large tome he had lent to you when you were still forced to rest in his arms. When you asked why he brought it down for you, he said that he didn't want you to run through the limited amount of books they had available in the wing. You decided not to ask any further questions. This would just make it easier for you to steal it on your way out if that was still at all possible.

...was it?

You've continued to exercise your injured ankle despite the fact that you haven't been approved for physical therapy. Back in middle school, a girl who moved out of town broke her ankle during a snowmobiling accident and you remember the strengthening routines she did in order to get it back to full capacity. She didn't have to have as serious of a surgery as you did over it, but you figured it was still better than anything. Besides, if a doctor approved of it for her what harm could it do for you?

Dr. Lomalo arrived by helicopter due to the amount of snow covering the ground—there was at least a foot and a half. The Vinsmokes didn't live on a road that got plowed, so if they wanted it done they would have to do it themselves. That wasn't necessary seeing that everyone who lived at the mansion never found a need to drive due to their lycan forms. Those that worked at the mansion already left to spend the holiday with their families. At least, that's what you assumed since you hadn't heard nor seen any sort of plow or tractor to move the snow. You couldn't even spot a shovel nearby, but you only had limited access to the manor anyway.

"Hey," The door to the green room as you had come to formally call it. (E/c) eyes dart to the entryway and you close the tome, reaching over to set it on the nightstand. Astrid is standing in the doorway. "That doctor's on his way inside. Yonji's here in the great room."

You nod and swing your legs over the side of the bed, scooting forward until your feet are settled on the floor. You feel as though you've become too comfortable in this boot. You see Astrid approaching you in your peripherals. She knows that you won't ask her for assistance because you don't need it, but you appreciate the fact that she was there to lend you a hand in case you began to struggle. Compared to Christmas Eve when you could barely put any weight on it, you had already grown accustomed to bearing more and more on it slowly but surely. If it hurts at all, you return to the previous step and continue to work your way up. It has been a torturously slow, frustrating process. You are proud of how far you've come.
