It's been three days.

Three days since my last text from Cara.

Three days since she and Jack were taken.

Three days since I found out that my girlfriend is the daughter of a monster aka George Foyet.

This can't be real. But the cruel reality is that she and Jack are still gone and we're desperately trying to find both of them alive. I walk into the bullpen to find everyone is still in the conference room.

Hotch and I were forced to go home last night by Chief Strauss, saying that we weren't being useful to the case by not sleeping, showering, or eating for days. We were both told that we weren't allowed back until the morning and to get some sleep. It wasn't easy but I followed orders. I went home, took a shower, and tried to eat but my appetite was nonexistent. I did manage to sleep for a little bit. My dreams were filled with images of her, laughing and smiling with me. But when I woke up alone, I felt my heart break all over again. I am in love with a ghost and I need answers.

I walk into the conference room and see that Hotch is also back.

"Did you guys find anything new?" I ask as I take a seat.

"Somewhat," Garcia tells me. "I was able to get into Cara's laptop but there wasn't anything on there to indicate who would have done something like this. Honestly, it did have much on it except for work documents, some papers she wrote while at BU, and pictures from college til now."

"How about that list of Foyet's enemies? Anyone stand out to you?"

Ever since we found out who Cara's biological father was, we've been trying to see if he was connected to this in any way. Especially since we've already cleared all of Hotch and Cara's enemies because they are all either locked up still, dead, or have concrete alibis for when Cara and Jack were taken.

Garcia shakes her head, "I'm still looking but so far all of them have checked out. Plus, almost none of them knew Foyet even had a daughter. But there are a lot of people who hated that man so there's still a chance there."

Morgan sighs, "I hate to even suggest it, but what if Ash was in on it? I mean, Hotch, you did kill her father. If she knows the details of the case, which I bet she does because she has access to all of the files, she'd know that you're the one who literally beat him to death. She probably blames you for not having a father, even one who was a serial killer. What if she took Jack so that you'd miss out on raising him and seeing the rest of his life just like Foyet not being around anymore for hers?"

Hotch remains silent, not saying a word, but I shake my head vigorously.

"No, I know Cara and there's no way she had anything to do with this."

Rossi nods, "I agree with the kid. When she was talking to me about reuniting with Joy, she told me her father died before she ever met him. But when I saw that picture in her spare room I thought the same thing as you Morgan. I started to doubt that Ash was truly on our side. But after thinking about it and knowing who her father was, I'm thinking she told me that because once she learned who her father truly was, he was dead to her and the man she thought she knew didn't exist. I'm not completely dismissing it, but we all know Cara Ash and I genuinely don't believe she is even capable of that level of hatred or of kidnapping a child."

"We don't know that," Hotch says quietly, causing the whole room to go silent. He stands up as he continues, "we don't know that's how she felt, Dave, because she never disclosed to us that her father personally targeted this team. We don't know when they met or when she cut off contact if she did at all. All we do know is that she lied to us and now she and my son are missing."
