Hospitals Do Sometimes Have Happy Endings

Shane Pov

I could feel every inch of my body trembling and shaking as I rushed into the hospital doors with Ariana and her date Jai. Savannha had cancer, not cheating on me with Ethan, and now it might be to late.

"Shane, are you okay?" Ariana asked rubbing my shoulder as I was waiting for the receptionist.

" It's all Ethan's fault, he didn't tell anyone and she doesn't have her treatments" I said as the receptionist approached.

"Yeah well now her parents know" Ariana told me.

Jai went to go sit in the waiting room chairs but Ariana stayed up with me.

" May I help you" The receptionist asked me.

"Duh, I need to see Savannha Behr, right now" I scolded to the receptionist.

"Shane" Ariana quipped at me.

" Young man you need to settle down" She said while typing in her keyboard.

" Can you please give me an answer" I started yelling now trying to fight the tears rubbing the back of my head shaking . I just keep thinking to myself don't cry don't cry you're a man.

" Young man I was looking her up in the system. Only family can see her right not. I'm not allowed to give any more information at this point in time" She explained to me.

"I am family . I've been dating her since junior high. How dare you say I cant see her"I commanded to see her.

Ariana gave me a look like to stop and to just settle down.

"Young man-" The receptionist started to say but I interrupted " I'm not a young man, i'm a senior in high school who's girlfriend has cancer and a fucked up dad who left me and my mom for a girl half his age, I bet I've been through way more shit than you. I'm Shane, Shane Collins not young man. You hear me" I shouted.

Then Ethan ran out " Hey hey Shane settle down, Savannha is stable she's okay" Ethan said to me.

" How did you get in there" I questioned him.

" Well she uh asked for me. But that's beside the point okay she's fine" Ethan told me.

" What the hell she asks for you. You know nothing about her, I know everything about her. Dude look at me I'm shaking, i'm scared, I'm losing my mind, you gotta let me see her" I kept shouting.

" Shany please stop everything's going to be okay, you heard Ethan. Let's go sit over by Jai until we can see her" Ariana told me grabbing my wrist to take me over to the chairs.

" No" I shouted releasing my hand from Ariana " I gotta see her right now. It's no fair you get to see her, you basically almost killed her by not telling anyone, keeping this secret from me" I shrieked to Ethan.

" I'm sorry you can't see her right now, Shane. Just wait a little while" Ethan said in a calming voice.

" Easy for you to say you fuc-" I was telling Ethan but Ariana cut me off and grabbed my whole arm under her's. " Let's go sit down , Shane , please for me" Ariana pleaded to me.

" Listen to her, i'll get back to you" Ethan smiled to me and then walked away.

I followed Ariana to the seat next to Jai. Then when she sat me down and we released arms she grabbed Jai and took him to the side so she can talk to him.

Ariana Pov

" Jai, I think maybe you should go home, I'll call you in the morning. Maybe we can get some coffee or a brunch" I told Jai.
