Ethan POV

"What's the matter with you" Ariana screamed while walking up to my locker.

"What" I said chewing on my frozen waffle.

" Is that a frozen waffle" she smirked.

"Yes, so" I smiled.

" look we need to talk" Ariana said as if the waffle conversation didn't happen.

"Okay" I questioned.

"Shane and I both know about you and Savannha" she said as I began walking with her to homeroom.

"What" I stopped her from walking.

"You know what" She sassed and rolled her eyes.

" How did you guys find out. I mean I couldn't er I just oh where's Shane" I stuttered.

"I don't know, pretty sure he's not coming to school today" Ariana informed.

" Oh man he must be torn" I said concerned.

" You think, that's all you have to say for yourself, just oh he must be torn" Ariana sassed me again.

Ding Ding Ding - The bell rang before I could say anything

" Whatever bye I can get to my homeroom from here" Ariana turned and walked away.

I know I should've said something but I was speechless. I should've said something to Shane but Savannha didn't want anyone to know she has cancer, especially Shane. I feel horrible.

Shane POV

Marin101: What's wrong you seem off today baby

ShanyPoo: I think I'm a little better since you called me baby :)

Marin101: I bet

ShanyPoo: Wow.. Complimenting yourself.

Marin101: Nah, just saying I know what you like ;)

ShanyPoo: haha, hey shouldn't you b at school ?

Marin101: Different time zones I have school in a hour.

ShanyPoo: Really, I dint want to keep you up when you should be getting some rest.

Marin101: I think you're worth it. Now tell me what's wrong.

ShanyPoo: I like your playing hard to get game ;)

Marin101: oh I bet.

ShanyPoo: Can you Facetime or Skype today or maybe even now before you go to school.

Marin101: I shouldn't, I'll wake my parents. Sorry. Later?

ShanyPoo: Sure. I wish you'd give me your number.

Marin101: Once we Skype and I know you're no killer.

ShanyPoo: I understand I just want to hear your voice. I bet it's really pretty.

Marin101: I know ;) Why aren't you at school?

ShanyPoo: Who said I wasn't ?

Marin101: Cause you're texting me.

ShanyPoo: Yeah but that doesn't mean i'm not at school.

Marin101: Texting during class. I like it :)

ShanyPoo: I bet ;)

Ethan POV

" Savannha , Savannha" I shouted at her locker. She dropped her books.

" Damn Ethan look what you did" Savannha said starting to pick up her books.

" No hey I got them" I told her.

We both started to pick them up at the same time and our hands touched but quickly got back up.

" Here you go, sorry" I said to her.

"It's fine Ethan. So why were you shouting my name and hurry cause my class is on the other side of the school and Mr. Duncan does not like when students are late" She said rapidly.

" I - I um just wanted to let you know that Sh- Sh" I said trying to scramble out the words.

"What" She said with her left eyebrow going up.

" Shane knows" I told her.

" No he can't... how... did you tell him" Savannha angered out.

The bell rang.

"Just great, Goodbye Ethan" Savannha said rushing to class.

Why does the bell always ring during important conversations. Every things going by horribly. It was pracice time for football. I can't believe Shane's not here. I thought for sure he was. What did he leave school so he wouldn't have to look at me.

" Bass" Coach shouted.

" Yeah coach" I said ?

" Why weren't u at the game" He shouted.

"I'm sorry Coach Lottig, I had something very important" I told him looking straight in his eyes.

" Well looks like that something important lost your chance for Notre Dame" Coach said back to me.

"Oh it's okay I was just one game, they'll find me again" I told him.

"Well Shane got offered at least a 2 year scholarship there. Possibly even a full ride" Coach announced. Then before walking away he told me" Laps now, and tell all the boys"

Shane Pov

I walked down the kitchen to make a sandwich. Then my mom walked in. Oh shit i'm busted.

"I thought you were at work, mom" I said cutting my sandwich in half.

" I came home for lunch" She said eyeing me.

" Yeah me too" I told her.

" You aren't skipping school are you" She said still eyeing me.

How is it that moms always know you're lying.

" I just got a lot going on right now, mom I can't be there" I told her being honest.

" Really including you getting into Notre Dame" Mom said while smiling.

" How'd you know about that" I asked.

" The school bored called me and I was going to bring you some lunch for school but they said you weren't there" My mom explained.

"Right, I know I just. I found out that Savannha has been cheating on me and that's why she... she um" I tried to finish my sentence but I couldn't.

"Oh Shane that's horrible. Come here" My mom said opening arms to give me a hug. " Everything is going to be okay Shane" She wrapped her arms around me. " You have a meeting with the bored next Tuesday at 11:30"

I pulled back from the hug " Really, next week" I said now excited.

" Yes, I'm so proud of you Shane and so would your fa--" She began to say but I wouldn't let her finish.

"Please don't ruin the moment by saying that word" I told her.

" Sorry Shane I just ... Never mind... Congratulations... Let's celebrate tonight... Okay?

" Sure, Mom... I love you" I said smiling again.

" I love you too, honey" And for the first time since my dad left us me and my mom smiled with excitement which we haven't done together in a long time.
