Here We Go Again

Two years have passed since my reincarnation. I am currently taking a carriage to the royal capital's Arsulia Magic Academy. Given my appearance, there is no way I can be a student, but I can be a teacher. I will have to take a specialized exam to be a teacher. Lilith is also applying to be a teacher, however unlike me, she is using connections and other resources. It will take a while for her to get in, but this method is expected of her. Being a teacher is probably the best job I can take right now since there is no need for adventurers in a time of peace.

"Teach! We're finally here! Arsulia Magic Academy!"

It does look like a famed prestigious school.

Off to the side are two nobles... they take one look at me... I can see where this is going.

Their comments are literally a paraphrasing of Bass' first meeting with me except with the added lines of "how low this school has fallen to have an amber eyes for a teacher." And such. I just tune it out...

"What are you talking about?! You can't judge a person by the color of their eyes! Teach, you don't have to worry about it!" Ted interjects on my behalf.

That was unexpected, but a pleasant surprise.

"You Two Nobles! Shame on you!" A new voice cuts in.

Red eyes, a crest on the ribbon...

"Spreading malicious gossip about a potential teacher... you're an absolute disgrace to the nobles!"

"Who the hell are you?" One of the insulting nobles snap back.

"My name is Eliza! After graduating at the Arsulia Magic Academy five years from now... I will become a great female magician who will make history!"

"You better watch your tone. We should teach you some manners."

"Teach! Let's help her."

"No, it is unnecessary. Her strength is obvious."

In rapid movements, she draws her sword and slashes the front ends of the nobles' ascots.

"Get out of my sight right now."

They vanish into the distance.

I didn't ask for help, but I should thank her.

"Miss-"

"So, you're the one who will be applying to become a teacher. But as of now, you aren't a teacher yet, I have no reason to speak to a commoner."

I just wanted to thank you.

"If you want me to acknowledge you as a teacher, you'll have to earn it."

She walks away. I never thought there was such a strong-willed girl left in this complacent, peaceful era.

"What the heck! What's wrong with that girl?!" Ted remarks.

"How would I know?"

Having said that... I feel like we have met somewhere before...
