Love Has An Ugly Past

He made deep eye contact, and looked away again, and acted as if he never saw me.

I must've pulled a face when he did that, because Aoki and Doja saw it.

"Don't worry Jenae, he's an ass. Remember who you're dating right now love. A total 10. Chase could never compete with Zeec." She said confidently.

"Yea Chase is a total double 0." Doja said while rolling her eyes and making a zero with her pointer finger and thumb.

It's true. If it came down to looks, manners and overall cuteness, Zeec won hands down.

I admit I felt a tiny pang in my heart seeing Chase with the girl he cheated on me with, and to make it worse, with my friend, but knowing that Zeec would show up any minute now, gave me the strength to not even feel it anymore.

"Okay so I hope everyone is ready for a good day. There are snacks and beverages on the table, help yourself to all, the food will be served after the games, and yea let's have fun guys." Rosaliez announced on the microphone, and everyone began to cheer.

Rosaliez helped Miranda sit down on the throne. Chase sat on a chair positioned right next to her. Miranda's belly was swollen, and she was huge, but she was still beautiful as ever. She had that pregnancy glow.

Miranda took the mic from her sister, and started to speak.
"Hi there. I just wanted to thank everyone for coming to the shower." Her voice was sweet and light, she already looks and acts like the perfect mom she's destined to be.
"I know some of you have super busy lives, but yet you made the time for me, and I really do appreciate that from the bottom of my heart. This is my first baby, and being able to share this special moment with you guys, is truly something magical."
Some people started tearing up, including her.

"Chase and I are young, " She took his arm, "but we will learn to be the best parents we can be, with the help and guidance of our friends and family." We all started clapping. "Now let's get started I'm so excited!"

I clapped happily. At them. Even though Chase hurt me, and the actual proof of him cheating was now growing inside Miranda, I was still happy for her, more than you could ever imagine.

Chase looked at her lovingly and kissed her on her forehead when she finished her speech. Made me think did he ever look at me like that, and give me the same love and affection.

'Stop it Jenae, this is Miranda's moment. Don't spoil it with your thoughts.' I told myself silently.

I made myself comfortable in my pillow as the games started.

Firstly, we played the pin game. We were all given safety pins, whereby for the whole shower, no one could say the word "baby" until the end. Once we heard someone say "baby" you take the person's pin, and the person who ends up with the most pins wins a prize at the end.

Rosaliez started handing out the pins, and every girl there, looked so determined to win.

"Oh I'm totally gonna beat y'alls asses." Cinnamon said sassily taking her pin and pinning it onto her t-shirt.

"We're gonna see about that." Aoki says clapping back. We all giggled.

"I mean we're at a ba-" Doja slapped her mouth shut, she almost lost her pin in the first 5 minutes of having it. "I mean a pregnancy shower. That doesn't sound right either. My point is, this is gonna be sooooo hard." She whined.

"I almost took your pin now." Cinnamon said laughing.

"Okay! Everyone has their pin?" Rosaliez announces. And everyone shouts:
"Yeah!"
"Superrr. Okay so we're going to ask you to divide yourselves into pairs, each of you will play the games with a partner, and both of you will work towards winning your prize."
