Jungkook's torn from his sleep by a thunderstorm. When he realizes the natural spectacle, he slowly straightens his upper body. Pattering rain whips against the square window pane. The raindrops are accompanied by bright flashes of lightning that briefly illuminate the bedroom at irregular intervals. The crashing thunder makes Jungkook wince.

He's always been able to sleep through the last few nights, but this time he's actually glad to have woken up in the gloomy midnight. A glance at the digital clock on the left side of his bed tells him that it's 1:23 a.m. Normally, he would have tried to continue sleeping despite the thunderstorm, but he decides to stay awake instead. This is for a particular reason; he wants to meet Taehyung during the night.

After all these weeks, Jungkook has theorized that his world and Taehyung's world are probably 12 hours apart. This would explain why he can visit Taehyung in broad daylight at night when he's sleeping. Conversely, back when he took a nap during the day, he found Taehyung in the forest at night. And now, since the warrior of his dreams lacks sleep, catching up on it at this very moment, it means that Taehyung may be awake at night. A logical conclusion for Jungkook.

The thunder is booming in his head. Sometimes it's so loud that Jungkook feels as if his entire body is vibrating. He can't remember the last time such a storm hit Seoul. Likewise, he can't remember the last time he felt such emotions for someone as he does for Taehyung.

He never saw him as just a dream figure, but now it can't even be denied that he sees more in him than just a friend. Secretly, he knew this all along, but the time has come when he can no longer bear to be just a friend to Taehyung.

With a racing heart and a mess in his head, Jungkook goes to the window. The arcs of light are beautiful, fascinating, and terrifying at the same time. If they meet resistance, they can cause great destruction. Taehyung has struck Jungkook's heart like lightning, igniting a fire that only the warrior himself can contain.

And Jungkook's utterly powerless against it. He can't put it out, and it's nearly impossible to keep the fire under control. But has he also managed to burn in Taehyung's heart? Fire can hurt if you're not careful or when you're playing with it. But it can also create new energy and warmth. Fascinating how much love and fire have in common.

Jungkook remains standing at the window for quite a while until the storm rain turns to drizzle, and lightning moves on along with the thunder. He then picks up his cell phone, which is plugged into the charging cable next to his nightstand.

To Hobi:

"Please call me when you wake up. I need your advice. Time doesn't matter. I'm awake now."

Send.

After that, he stares at the cell phone screen with a blank look. How should he spend the rest of the time until dawn? There are still many hours ahead, and Jungkook's too tired to do anything productive. If he can't even work during the day, how can he do it at night and overtired to boot? Pointless. He decides to take a shower to wake up first. Afterwards, he could watch a series on Netflix since there's probably garbage on TV at this hour. On his way to the bathroom, his cell phone's ringtone calls him back: Never Not - by Lauv. Surprised, he walks back at an increased pace and answers the call.

"Why are you awake?"

"I could ask you the same thing. Shouldn't you be with Taehyung right now?"

What Jungkook really likes about Hobi is that he talks about Taehyung as if he were a real person. Others would possibly use descriptions such as "sexy warrior" or "dream guy"...even though these descriptions are pretty applicable, Jungkook simply likes his name the best.
