Gabi

"Dad,"

"Mhm?"

"Good morning,"

"Good morning darling,"

"I am awake early,"

"Did I make too much noise?"

"No. It's today, med school,"

"We are going to Sierra's for tea later,"

I nodded and sat next to him at the table where he was drinking his morning coffee. He also had toast, and usually ate it before bringing up breakfast for me and Sierra.

"How are you feeling?"

"Okay. I'm excited to see where Sierra lives,"

"You're gonna wanna move in,"

"No,"

"She has a penthouse," he whispered, "It's beautiful,"

"We have our home,"

"We do, but trust me, she has a very nice place,"

I shrugged and leant into his side, putting my arms round him which made it very difficult for him to eat. Still, he hugged me back and rested his head ontop of mine.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah. I just woke up early,"

"Okay, well what can I get you for breakfast?"

"I'm not hungry,"

"You need something,"

I shook my head and he sighed, taking his pots to the kitchen.

"You know you can tell me if anything is up,"

"I am too anxious to eat, that's it,"

"At least have an apple,"

He cut one up, then brought it over and sat with me again, his knee bouncing a much as mine. Dad had never really be one to hide his emotions from me, and he didn't act all tough. I think everyone around us appreciated his softness (especially me, because it made up for when he was harsh)

When I was done, he took breakfast up for Sierra and I got dressed for school, then did my makeup as Sierra re-braided my hair.

"What do you fancy for tea tonight? I can make anything,"

"I don't mind,"

"Shall I get a recipe from Calum?"

"Yes please,"

"Okie dokie. I hope you have a good day at school,"

She leant down and gave me a hug, then gave my head a kiss and got my blazer for me. When I stood, I gave her another hug, then got my bag and went downstairs.

Henry was picking me up, so I packed lunch, then waited for him to arrive by the door; when he arrived, I called goodbye and left.

I slid in next to Julian, then we drove off instantly, for we were slightly late.

"Good morning,"

"Morning. I've been up ages,"

"Someone is excited for assembly,"

"Oh I've been counting down," I said, rolling my eyes, "Guess where I am going tonight?"

"Out?"

"No. To Sierra's,"

"Oh shit. Are you sleeping?"

"I don't think so. I won't be, anyway,"

"Let me know if you need a lift home," Henry said, "Don't you find out about med school today?"
