The Maiden's Voyage, Part 3

Today May and Drew didn't even want to get up at all. They had seen their old "friend" Harley last night, along with some actual friends from back in the day. If it wasn't for Lyra and Khoury literally dragging them out of bed, they most likely would've slept in that day. Or at least until the boat landed in Sinnoh, which it will later today. Now high noon (12 am), the 4 were at the bow of the ship. They were staring strait ahead, and the Sinnoh region was starting to come into view. "Look guys! The Sinnoh region!" Lyra exclaimed to the others. "Looks like we'll be there soon." Drew brought up. Then an announcement came up. "WE WILL BE ARRIVING AT TWINLEAF TOWN IN 3 HOURS." It said. "Only 3 hours? That isn't long at all!" May exclaimed. "Oh, you better believe it! We're going to have as much fun together as we can in those 3 hours!" A voice said, startling the quad. Harley, followed up by Brianna and Solidad, had popped out of almost nowhere. May and Drew kept quiet, trying to ignore the guy standing behind them. Lyra, however, managed to start a conversation with him. "Hey again, Harley. Solidad, Brianna. What've you been doing lately?" "Nothing much, we've done all there is to do on this lame ship. I can't wait to get off it." "I can't wait to get off this thing either. It's so boring on here." "Yea, there isn't really much to do here at all." Then Harley interrupted the flow and changed the subject a tad. "So, how long have you and Khoury known Romeo and Juliet here, hm?" He had attempted to both ask a question yet tease May and Drew at the same time. May's face became red as she responded quickly. "Romeo and Juliet?!" "Where on earth did that come from? Romeo and Juliet?" Drew had also chimed in, but Harley ignored them both. "I've known them for 4 days." Lyra answered. "Me and Khoury here met them in Olivine City the day before the ship set sail." While everyone was distracted by their conversation, Brianna took advantage and managed to stand next to Drew. "Wow, you haven't known them for that long. You started to travel together the instant you met almost? What inspired you to travel with them? You just have to tell me!" Harley then proceeded to drag Lyra away by the arm. "Tell me everything!" They then disappeared from sight, leaving Khoury, May, Drew, Solidad, and Brianna alone. It was then Khoury who broke the silence. "Brianna, what exactly are you doing?" Brianna had begun trying to move closer to the source of her fangirling, but Khoury had caught her. Everyone turned, even Drew, who instantly jerked backwards when he saw Brianna's face directly in front of his. Khoury and Solidad almost laughed, but May just stood there. Drew flipped his hair as he recovered from what had just happened. "Anyways, what are you going to do for the remaining time on this ship?" Solidad asked May, Drew, and Brianna in an attempt to change the subject. "I'm probably just going to relax. It's not like there's much else to really do." She glanced at her watch. "We arrive in an hour and a half." She started to walk towards the room when she stopped. She turned to Drew and Khoury. "Are you coming too? You don't have to if you don't want to." Khoury felt like staying with Solidad and Brianna, but Drew accepted. "Yea, I'm coming." "Really? Don't you want to stay out here and talk to Solidad?" May asked, a little surprised that he had decided to come. "If I wanted to talk out here then I wouldn't have decided to go back to the room with you, May." He said with a flip of his hair. Then another announcement came on. "WE WILL BE ARRIVING AT TWINLEAF TOWN IN 1 HOUR." "Looks like we've only got an hour." Khoury said. "I can't wait to get their!" Brianna spoke up. "Neither can we!" Everyone spoke up in unison. This mad everyone laugh for a few seconds before May and Drew started to head back towards the room.

"Let me get this strait." Harley said. Lyra had told him everything, from exactly how her and Khoury met May and Drew to when they asked to travel with them. "You saw May and her little boyfriend walking through the forest and decided to eavesdrop? You only asked to travel with them because you thought that they love each other? You got them to accept just by saying that you knew Ash, Brock and this Dain girl?" He asked. Lyra had left out any details on this ship because of what had happened between her, Khoury, an Drew. "Yup. That's exactly it, if I remembered correctly." She answered. "Did anything happen here on this ship that I should know about as well? Do one of those little lovebirds actually like each other, but still haven't confessed it to the other? Be honest." Harley was attempting to get information out of Lyra. She herself was trying to come up with something to say to Harley. "Honestly, I don't know." She lied. "Really? Are you sure? Because I can sense a touch of lies in your voice!" Harley responded. "I won't let you return to your little friends until you cough up the truth!" "Wow, you're getting desperate, Harley." Solidad, Brianna, and Khoury had all walked up. Harley let go of Lyra's arm and was about to state his comeback when Solidad interrupted him again. "When will you ever stop picking on those 2? When will you stop teasing them about a feeling between them that might now even exist? It's getting old, Harley." Khoury turned to Lyra. "Remind you of someone?" He said with a a smirk. "Har, Har." Lyra responded sarcastically. Nobody had realized it but Harley had become furious. "I WILL GET THE THE BOTTOM OF THIS! I KNOW THOSE 2 LOVEBIRDS HAVE BEEN HODING THEIR LOVE! I'LL PROVE IT ONE DAY TO YOU ALL!" He then stormed off. "What was that all about?" Brianna asked Solidad. "The real Harley. He's been teasing them for years. He really thinks that they secretly love each other." She answered, and the. Harley in the distance turned around and yelled back. "I HEARD THAT! AND THEY DO LOVE EACH OTHER, YOU'LL SEE! I'LL MAKE ALL OF YOU SEE!" He then turned around and continued to walk angrily away. "Am I really like that, Khoury?" Lyra asked her friend. "Yea, sometimes." Then another announcement came on. "WE WILL BE ARRIVING AT TWINLEAF TOWN IN 30 MINUTES." "We should get May and Drew and tell them that we're almost there." Lyra said. The 4 nodded in agreement, and then Khoury led them to the room.
When they opened the door, they found Drew besides May, who was taking a short nap. He didn't notice Solidad, Brianna, Khoury, or Lyra for about a minute. May was leaning against his shoulder, and Drew looked like he didn't mind it. Then Solidad spoke up. "Is this a bad time?" He then turned to the 4 people who have entered, shocked to see that they had come back so soon. "Solidad, Brianna, Khoury, Lyra? What are you doing here!?" This had woken up May, who, noticing the company, blushed furiously, then proceeded to hide under the blankets. Everyone was quiet for a moment. Then Drew spoke. "I-It isn't what it looked like!" Lyra was the one to make a comeback. "Really? Because it looked like May was taking a nap on your shoulder and you were enjoying it!" This made May turn even more red, even though nobody saw, and Drew even started to blush bright red. "Ok, maybe I-it's exactly what it looked like..." He broke the silence. Brianna was quiet during this whole scene until Solidad spoke to her. "I think this is a bad time, Brianna. Lets leave them alone for a while." Brianna nodded in understanding as they walked out the door, leaving the 4 friends alone. 'Could it be possible that Harley had been right all along?' Solidad thought to herself.
The instant those 2 left Khoury and Lyra walked up to May and Drew. Khoury walked outside with Drew while May and Lyra stayed in the room. "What exactly happened just now?" Lyra asked May. "I-I-I don't know! One minute I decide to take a nap before we arrive in Sinnoh and the next I find myself waking up on Drew's shoulder..." May looked extremely embarrassed by all of this, and her blush was as red as humanly possible.
"Drew, what in the name of Arceus just happened in there?" Khoury asked. They stood at the rear of the boat, so nobody could hear their conversation. "I just don't know what happened or how it did, all I know that it was one of the best moments I've ever experienced, although I hate to admit it." Drew answered. He then continued. "You know I like May. But I just don't know how to tell her. I also doubt she likes me back. You understand, right?" "Of course I understand. But how do you know whether or not she likes you if you don't tell her how you feel?" Khoury responded. "I, I just don't know. I just have a feeling that she views me as a friend and friend alone. I've hidden my feelings away with teases and actions. And I'm starting to regret it."
"May, is there something you would like to tell me?" Lyra asked her friend. She felt like May actually did view Drew as more than a friend. May sighed. "If I tell you, will you promise not to tell anyone else, especially Drew?" She knew it. Lyra knew it. May liked Drew. "Cross my heart, May." May then took a deep breath and let it out. "Lyra, I think, I think I like Drew." Lyra silently celebrated. 'She likes him back! But if I tell either of them that the other likes them back, it could ruin our friendship, our trust.' Lyra stopped, really debating with herself wether or not to tell May that Drew likes her back, or to tell Drew that May liked him back. 'I'll break the news to Khoury, then he'll break the news to Drew, maybe.' Lyra then spoke aloud. "Why didn't you just tell us earlier? Why did you hide your feelings?" 'Like Drew did?' She finished the thought in her mind to herself. "I just don't know, Lyra. It's just that I doubt Drew would ever like me back. All he does is tease me most of the time. Other than those 'Roses for Beautifly' he's never showed any real signs of liking me."
"Drew, if you don't be a man and tell May that you like her, than you won't get anywhere! You have to tell her eventually. You don't know if she likes you or not, but if it makes you feel better, I'll ask Lyra later what May said to her." Khoury was trying to comfort Drew. "You'd do that? But what if May said that she doesn't like me, and that what had just happened made her not like me even more? What if she hates me now? What if-" Drew was interrupted by Khoury. "Stop thinking like that! She's your friend for Arceus's sake! She wouldn't hate you over something as dumb as that! What are you so afraid of, Drew?!" "I DONT KNOW WHAT I'M AFRAID OF, KHOURY!" He yelled. "I... I just don't know. I just don't know." He turned out to sea, looking away from Khoury. 'He looks very upset.' Khoury thought to himself. Then, suddenly, the last announcement came up on the loudspeaker. "WE HAVE ARRIVED AT TWINLEAF TOWN, SINNOH." This caught the attention of everyone, even Lyra and May. "Drew, we should probably get the others. We made it to Twinleaf." Khoury said. After a nod of agreement, Drew and Khoury met up with Lyra and May just as the ship pulled up to the dock.
