35. Courthouse Again

"Wait up, Bella!" Chris called from the bottom of the courthouse steps. She was carrying Liam in her arms and trying to catch up to Bella.

Bella turned to look down the steps and saw Chris and Street walking up the stairs each holding a twin in their arms, and she called, "Mommy, daddy, you guys are so slow!"

Street finally caught up to Bella and said, "Wait a minute, Bella. Did I ever tell you the story of how your mom and I got married?"

Bella shook her head no.

"We got married right where you're standing. Right here," Street pointed with his free hand.

"Really? Here?" Bella asked.

"Yeah, it was a crazy day that didn't go at all to plan, but we got married, and that's all that matters," Chris explained.

"This is where we started our family, and so it's pretty great that we're adding to it in the same spot," Street recalled.

"I don't think she cares about our wedding, Street, I think she wants to go in there and make this official! Are you ready, preciosa?" Chris asked.

"Let's roll!" Bella exclaimed excitedly and walked into the courthouse.

Chris and Street entered the court room to find Uncle Sarzo, Aunt Helena, Deacon, Annie, Tan, Bonnie, Hicks, Buck, Hondo, Nichelle, Luca, Fowler, Cabrera, and all of their kids sitting in seats. The judge ruled in favor of Bella's adoption, and everyone erupted in applause.

Bella jumped up and down and leaned in to hug Chris tightly.

"Can we take a family picture?" Street asked.

The security guard offered to snap the picture of the 5 Alonso-Street family members.

"Wait, now the WHOLE family," Chris urged and waved for all of 20 Squad and her aunt and uncle to join in.

"You have a big family," the security guard said as he back pedaled to get everyone in the frame.

"Yeah! They're the best!" Bella beamed.

Everyone laughed.
