"Iskra?" the redhead snapped to face the door and spotted Kate looking at her, worry written all over her face.

"You knew?" she frowned, her whole face filled with pure betrayal, "You knew and you didn't tell me?"

"I...I didn't want you to get hurt, Iskra. You have to understand-" Kate started but was interrupted by Iskra storming out of the room and through the house, "Iskra? What's going on?" Maria asked as Iskra blew by right to the front door, Kate following shortly behind her.

"Iskra! Where are you going? It's pouring!" Kate exclaimed following her out the door, "Away from you!" Iskra threw back.

"You don't get it!" Kate exclaimed, "No! Katherine! You don't get it. You knew exactly how important this was to me. And you just kept it from me! You didn't tell me!" she shouted.

"Knowing wasn't going to change anything, was it?" Kate matched her volume, "I would have never known what it would change since you weren't going to tell me! What was your plan? To lie to the person who was raised by two SHIELD Agents? Did you think I wouldn't catch you in a lie at some point?"

"I couldn't tell you! I couldn't be the one to break your heart," Kate stated, "Well, you see how well that worked, don't you! By keeping this from me...you just broke my heart more."

"I wasn't going to tell you because I love you! And I don't want to see you in pain!" Kate didn't seem to even notice her own words until a soft gasp fell from Iskra's lips, "I-"  Kate stuttered.

"You...you love me?" Iskra froze midstep, but Kate hadn't stopped, so now they were right there next to each other, Iskra's hair stuck to the sides of her face, and her clothes clung to her body.

"I do, I really do." Kate breathed, Iskra couldn't bring herself to say anything, so she placed her hands on either side of Kate's face, and crashed her lips against hers. The kiss wasn't anything like their other kisses. It wasn't soft, it was full of hurt and anger, but after a few moments, Iskra jerked back.

It was ironic really, a rain kiss. Iskra had always wanted to kiss someone in the rain, it's the kind of thing she would see in movies.

"I can't..." she whispered out, "Iskra.." Kate tried, "No, I can't believe you kept this from me."

"You...you were supposed to be the one person I could trust with anything! Why? Why...did you have to?" salty tears mixed with the pouring down rain. "Why did you have to do this?"

Iskra turned away from her again, "Iskra! Please wait!" Kate pleaded, and Iskra shook her head, "No."

Iskra wished she could go back to the night they met.

She wished she could fall in love with Kate all over again and just keep her damn nose out of the past.

Iskra had even processed the fact that Clint was her father. She was too sad and too angry.

"Iskra, you should at least come inside," Kate tried, "I'm good. But feel free to go inside." Iskra stated, "I'm done fighting with you and I'm done talking to you."

"What does this mean for us?" Kate asked, Iskra, pressed her lips together, "I need space and time, Kate. Please...just go."

---

"Iskra? What happened?" Maria asked as Iskra walked through the door her red hair dripping, "Iz?" Jessica added in a quiet voice, "Jess, how about you get a towel from the closet, ok?"

Jessica nodded, and tears slipped down Iskra's face, "Here," she mumbled handing Maria the paper.

Maria Hill was a SHIELD agent, she was good at concealing facial expressions even when getting news. But this her entire face just dropped.

Still holding the paper in one hand, she opened her arms and Iskra immediately hugged her. "Just tell me you didn't know...I know you didn't know but I need to hear it." Iskra whispered, "I had no idea Iz."

"What do I do?" Iskra asked, "What do I even do?"

"I don't know baby, I don't know." Maria held her close, "I wish Mama was here," Iskra whispered, "She always knew what to do."

"I know she did." Maria responded, Jessica brought back the towel and Maria wrapped it around Iskra's shoulders, "Maybe we should just talk about this in the morning?" Iskra nodded in agreement.

Jessica hugged Iskra tightly, "I love you," Iskra smiled, signing back the same reply. She hadn't been able to spend much time with her younger sister, but she planned to spend a lot of time with her family once she sorted this whole mess out.

Iskra fell asleep between her little sister and mom while watching a movie, it wasn't a very peaceful sleep the events of the past couple of days played through her mind on a loop. It wasn't a good feeling at all.

---

Iskra wasn't good with her own feelings.

"Look, Iz. I will support you in whatever it is that you want to do, but are you sure you don't want to give yourself some time?" Maria asked gently.

"Mom, I need answers. I can't pretend everything isn't falling apart anymore."

"Ok, I guess we're taking a trip." Maria stated,

"No, I'm taking a trip...you need to stay here for Jess."

"Well, I'm not letting you go alone." Maria stated.

"I'll take Yelena with me...if she promises not to murder anyone." Iskra stated.

Based off even what Yelena knew now, the blonde was fully ready to attack Barton and Kate, Iskra was the only person standing in her way. At least trying to reason with her.

"No promises," Yelena shouted from the other room.

"Yelena." Melina warned from the same room, "Mama, you can't tell me you don't want to murder them either." Yelena stated.

"Russians, I'm telling you." Iskra sighed, and Maria laughed.

"Sweetie, you're Russian."

"I know."
