Drowned DISCONTINUED

Part 8

Leah harshly whispered in my ear. I turned around and I smacked the back of my head on the wall next to me. She stood up from my bed and put her hands on my neck suffocating me.

No no she was a ghost this is all in my head. I thought to myself then opened my eyes and she was there blood oozing from her mouth along with black froth. This felt real I could breath.

I felt tears form in my eyes and drip down my face.
"It sucks doesn't it. Not being able to breath. Now just imagine water going through your lungs. THATS HOW I FELT WHEN YOU KILLED ME YOU STUPID (F-ING) (B-WORD)." Leah spar in my face. Was this the end for me. I felt myself drifting in to darkness.

No I had to keep fighting. I had to. I started to kick my walls and slow any kind of struggle at all. Then my bedroom door swung open. I opened my eyes to see Axel. Then he knelt down to me caressing my cheek.
"No go she will get you to" I said and he looked then he looked confused.

I heard him saw my name a couple of  time and I felt him shaking me. Then I saw nothing.

"Lexi?"
"Oh there you are. I found you" a little girl said. I looked up at the small Burnette girl.
"Dang it. How are you so good at this game" my tiny high pitched voice rang in my ears.
"I told you I'm a hide n seek pro" she said looking at me.

I stood up and then started counting.
" 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 7 8 9 10. Ready or not here I come." I yelled and ran around. Then I went to my backyard and saw Leah sitting by the pool.

"Leahhh how am I supposed to be pro seeker if you don't hide" I said putting my hands on my hips. She just looked back down at the pool. I sat next to her.
"What's wrong" I asked her and she turned to me.

"How can you swim" she asked me and I shrugged.
"I don't know" I said and I looked at her she had a sad look on her face.
"Don't you ever get scared" she asked and I shook my head no.
"Nope. Swimming is fun" I said and she shook her head no.
"Papa used to throw me in" (btw 'papa' is her biological father. He was divorced and put in jail for child abuse abuse and neglect so Leah's father now is her step father)

I looked at her she was crying.
"He would say I was being a bad girl and throw me in the pool and held me under. Papa says it's going to make me a stronger woman" Leah said and I hugged her. We weren't immature children we were 12 and knew enough to know that was bad.

"So your scared of pools" I asked and she shook her head.
"No I'm scared of water"

"LEXI WAKE UP" I heard someone yell and I bounced up I felt sweat run down my forehead. My vision cleared to see Dave in front of me. His hand was on my face the other on my thigh.
"Calm down babe" he said then I wiped my face with the blanket that was on me. I was on my couch. Wait Axel and if Dave is here that means.

"Here is the water" I heard Axels voice and I looked he handed Dave the glass of water and Dave pressed it gently on my lips.
"Drink" he said and I looked around.
"What happened" I said and Dave shook his head.
"Drink first" he said and I drank it and set it down with a sigh.

Dave looked at me and then Axel.
"So ummm. I came by like I said and I saw ummm —"Axel" Axel said and Dave nodded— by the door sitting on your steps. You know for minute I thought you were cheating on me. So I asked him what he was doing here and he said he came by to hang out with you and you where having a panic attack or something in your room then passed out and that he put you on the couch. Then before we woke you up you kept muttering Leah's name and I'm sorry. Is there something I should know" Dave asked this was one of the few times I have seen him worried.

I say up with Dave's help.
" Yeah but it's not like you are going to care and I promised I wouldn't say anything" I said and he understood what I was talking about.
" I never said you couldn't talk about I said don't rat to the police before you know what happened" he whispered so Axel couldn't hear.

Dave stood up he was in his comfortable wear which was a t-shirt and some jeans. He sat on the couch and got under the blankets and pulled me to him. He looked at Axel and nodded to tell him to sit.
"Okay want to let Axel in" Dave said and I shook my head and looked at him.
"I'm sorry Axel. I trust you but you are a great person and that is why I can't tell you. You would go to the police" I said and he nodded.
"It's okay you didn't have to tell me. I will get going. I'll see you later" he said and I nodded and he left.

I missed his presence the second he stepped out of my house but Dave was there and at least this was something. I started to cry and he held me tighter.
"Can I tell you something. You know about that night. I was trying to tell you a couple of days ago but you had to leave" he said and I nodded.
"It's not your fault. WAIT before you object just listen. It's Nathan and Jerry's fault (they were the other guys that were at the beach). Yes you were drinking but they drugged each drink you had and they keep giving you cup after. Up full of this stuff. It's a hallucinations drug its what made you forget that Leah couldn't swim. Look I know I haven't been the best boyfriend and I know  worst right now but this is true" he said and I looked at him I stood up and threw something across the room.

I turned to look at Dave.
"YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT THOSE TWO ARE THE REASON I LOST HER. MY BESTFRIEND" I yelled and he nodded then there was a loud and harsh knock on my door.

I stood up with Dave and walked to the door he opened in to reveal about 4 or 5 cops at my door.
"Hello can I help you" I asked and the cop infront looked at me and looked down at a notepad then back to me.
"Are you Lexi" he said and I nodded then he grabbed my wrist and turned me around. I felt handcuffs wrap around my wrists.

"You are arrested for the murder of Leah Jones. You have the right to remain silent. anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to a attorney. If you can't afford one the court will provide one for you"
