chapter 4: aoi

"Hey, Mukuro" Aoi said in reply, smiling as she did so.
"You needed my help?" Aoi continued. Mukuro nodded and the two went into Aoi's house.

They sat down in the living room and Aoi waited for Mukuro to start speaking.
"You know Sayaka, the girl i've told you about before?" Mukuro asked. Once Aoi nodded, Mukuro continued to speak,
"Well.. i don't know why but every time me and Sayaka make eye contact, i get this sickly feeling in my stomach, but it's almost comforting in a way. My body just seems to melt every time she touches me and my heart feels like it beats a lot faster when she's close to me. I just can't seem to get her off of my mind and i don't know why. I've never felt like this with anybody before and it's starting to concern me a little bit. I feel so vulnerable around her, which is not like me at all. I get all flustered whenever she complements me and.."
Mukuro hesitated for a moment before continuing,
"I was at Sayaka's house today and i was sat on her bed. She came over to me, pushed me down and straddled me. That feeling in my stomach was going wild and i just allowed her to stay there. It was like i didn't care about what she did to me, i just let her."
Mukuro's face was going red as she spoke about what happened earlier on that same day.
Aoi smiled and placed her hands on top of Mukuro's.
"Mukuro, what your telling me sounds a lot like love. It really does sound like you're in love with Sayaka. You're totally showing her a side of yourself that nobody else has ever seen before, and that's not like you at all, Mukuro. I know you and Sayaka haven't known each other for that long, but love at first sight exists, so maybe thats what you're feeling. Just take some time to think about it, then sit down with her and tell her how you feel. You never know, she could feel the same way about you, and to even imagine that you we so vulnerable to be put in the position you were in. You must really trust her, Mukuro."
Mukuro took in every word Aoi was saying, nodding once Aoi finished speaking.
"I'll have a think about it and then i'll talk to her about it when i think the time is right." Mukuro said, standing up. Aoi raised an eyebrow as she looked up at the other girl.
"Leaving already?" Aoi asked.
"I forgot to tell you that Sayaka's at home waiting for me and i told her i wouldn't be long." Mukuro explained, feeling a little stupid for not mentioning that sooner.
"C'mon Mukuro. I'm sure a little longer won't do any harm. Why don't we have a drink and just talk about whatever for a bit. I can make tea."
Mukuro let out a small sigh of defeat as she sat back down.
"Only a little bit longer. I don't want to leave Sayaka waiting too long."
Aoi playfully rolled her eyes, standing up.
"Got it, you don't want to keep your girlfriend waiting for long." Aoi said, smirking as she did so.
"She is not my girlfriend." Mukuro exclaimed.
"Not yet she's not." Aoi replied before walking into the kitchen.

Once Aoi returned with tea for the two of them, she sat down and they caught up with each other a little. They spoke about anything and everything.
The conversation lasted longer than expected.

Mukuro glanced at the clock Aoi had on the wall and she realised she had been gone for over 3 hours. She stood up and thanked Aoi for the chat and the tea but she explained that she really had to go before Sayaka got too worried due to Mukuro being gone for too long.
They said their goodbyes and Mukuro left.

^Time skip- when Mukuro gets back:^

Once Mukuro got back, Sayaka ran up to her, hugging her tighter than usual. She looked up at Mukuro. That was when Mukuro saw that Sayaka's eyes were all red and puffy, as if she had been crying and stopped not before Mukuro had came back.
She held Sayaka closer before speaking,
"Hey.. what happened?" Mukuro asked, concern filling her voice."
"You were gone for longer than you made it sound like. I messaged you and i called you and you didn't answer. I was so scared something had happened to you. I can't lose you, Mukuro.. i really can't." Sayaka said. As she got to the end of her sentence, tears started forming in her eyes. She gripped onto Mukuro's shirt.
"I forgot to check my phone.. me and a friend of mine were talking and we lost track of time. I meant to come back sooner but she wanted me to stay a bit longer. I'm so sorry, Sayaka.. but look. I'm here now and you know i'm safe." Mukuro said, picking Sayaka up.
"i'm okay.." Mukuro added.
Sayaka nodded, wiping her eyes and looking at Mukuro.
"Don't ever leave me for that long again, especially without messaging me and letting me know that you'll take longer than expected.." Sayaka said.
"i won't, i promise."
"good."
There was silence between the two girls, but not an awkward silence. it was more of a comfortable silence.
"Can we go back upstairs and watch a movie or something like that?" Sayaka asked.
Mukuro nodded before carring Sayaka upstairs and placing her onto the bed.
Mukuro laid down next to sayaka. Sayaka instantly wrapped her arms around the other girl, pulling her close to her chest. Mukuro put her arms around Sayaka's waist, their legs once again intertwined. They enjoyed each other's touch. It was almost as if they craved to be touching each other whenever they could.
Sayaka was paying attention to the film on screen, whereas Mukuro was thinking.
She was thinking about what Aoi had said. She questioned if she did truly lobe Sayaka. She had only known Sayaka for a few days, but like Aoi said, first love does exist.
