Shooting star (an ikuzono fanfic)

chapter 6- beach date.

A few more weeks had passed and both of the girls were ready to confess their true feelings. They were both a nervous wreck, but especially Mukuro. She had no idea what a relationship was like and she had no idea what to say to Sayaka. She thought about it for days until she had a rough idea what to say. She had the day planned out perfectly.

"Sayaka." Mukuro said, looking at the blue haired girl.
Sayaka let out a small 'hm' noise as a reply.
"Can we go to the beach?" The soldier asked, sitting up.
"Its a little bit late. The sun will be setting in a couple hours."
"I know, but i still want to go for a bit.."
"alright then. Let me go get ready really quickly."
Mukuro nodded as she watched Sayaka get up and walk out of the room.

She walked back in not long later in short shorts and a cropped t-shirt.
Mukuro was in complete awe as she looked at Sayaka.
The blue hair girl let out a small laugh as she saw Mukuro's reaction.
"Come on then, before it gets too late." Sayaka said.

^Time skip- at the beach:^

Once they got to the beach, Sayaka told Mukuro to go find somewhere nice to sit and she'd join her in a moment.
Mukuro nodded before walking away. She found a nice place to sit and she placed the towels down, sitting on one of them.
Sayaka joined her a couple of minutes later. She no longer had her shorts and cropped t-shirt on. She had removed them, revealing a pastel blue two piece bikini. Mukuro was completely lost for words as she looked at the older girl.
Sayaka sat down next to Mukuro, putting her head on her shoulder as she watched the water.
The two stayed sat like that for a while.
There was nobody else on the beach. It was so empty. So peaceful.

Sayaka stood up after a bit and looked at Mukuro.
"Come in the water with me." She said, putting her hand out for the younger girl.
"I can't. i didn't bring a change of clothes."
"Well good thing i did. They're in the car. I'll grab them." Sayaka said before pulling Mukuro up.
"Wait here, Ikusaba." Sayaka said, almost demanding.
Mukuro nodded before Sayaka walked away, going to her car.

She returned a few minutes later, handing Mukuro a bag.
"There's changing rooms over there. C'mon, lets go" Sayaka said, holding onto Mukuro's hand.

Once Mukuro was changed, she looked at herself in the mirror that was in the changing rooms.
She was wearing a plain black two piece. Mukuro didn't really like the idea of bikinis as she didn't like her stomach. It was scarred and she was scared she would be judged.

Sayaka gently knocked on the door of the changing room.
"Mukuro, are you okay?" She asked. Mukuro glanced at the door, then back at herself.
"Yep. I'll be out in a moment" She said.
"Alright. Don't be too long" Sayaka said.
Mukuro took another look at herself before picking up the clothes she was wearing before, holding them over her stomach. She then left the changing room. Sayaka looked at Mukuro and smiled.
"You ready?" She asked.
Mukuro nodded.
"Just gotta put these back in the car" She said, looking down at the clothes covering her stomach. Sayaka nodded and the two walked back to the car.

Mukuro put her clothes back in the car before turning to Sayaka, revealing her stomach.
Sayaka noticed the scars but didn't say anything about them.
She glanced at them, only for a second, before looking at Mukuro's face.
"You're gorgeous, Mukuro.." Sayaka said, walking closer to Mukuro and putting her hands on Mukuro's waist, pressing their bodies together.
"I am?" Mukuro asked, realising how close their bodies actually were.
"Yes. You are honestly breathtaking. Just look at you. Everything about you is just.. perfect."
Mukuro blushed as she looked away from Sayaka.
Her heart was beating so fast and the feeling in her stomach was wilder than ever.
Sayaka let out a small laugh before letting go of Mukuro's waist.
"Come on then. I wanna get in the water" Sayaka said, grabbing Mukuro's hand once again.
Mukuro followed Sayaka to the sea before stepping in, gasping a little due to the sudden coldness of the water.
Sayaka turned to look at her.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
Mukuro nodded before speaking,
"Cold.."
Sayaka playfully rolled her eyes.
"What did you expect, Ikusaba?" Sayaka asked, wrapping her arms around Mukuro's neck.
"I knew it was going to be cold but it still took me by surprise a little." Mukuro said, a little annoyed that she let her guard down that much even water surprised her.
The two just looked at each other for a few minutes, neither of them saying a word.

Sayaka eventually let go of Mukuro, walking further into the water. Mukuro followed. The water was up to the girls stomachs by now.
Neither of them knew what to say, they just enjoyed the other girl's company.

A little while after, they both decided to get out of the water so they could have time to dry off before getting back in the car.
They were sat together on the sand as the sun was starting to set.
Both of the girls had wet hair due to them throwing water at each other.

Sayaka had her head on Mukuro's shoulder and Mukuro had her arm around Sayaka.
Mukuro had gotten changed almost straight after getting out of the water, whereas Sayaka stayed in her bikini.

Sayaka eventually sat up and turned her body around so it was facing Mukuro.
"Hey urm.. Can we talk about something?" Sayaka asked. Mukuro turned to look at her before replying,
"Yeah. What's up?"
It was now or never.
Sayaka took a deep breathe before beginning to speak,
"I know we've only known each other for a few months now but.. I really like you, Mukuro. No.. not like. Love. I love you, Mukuro. I'm so in love with you it's crazy. I knew there was something different about you. I knew since the first time our eyes met at the concert and i haven't felt the same since. You literally make me so unbelievably happy and i want to be around you all of the time. I can't stop thinking about you and i didn't really want to tell you incase this ruins our friendship but i can't hide it anymore. I love you, Mukuro Ikusaba.. I just love everything about you. You're the only person that's ever been able to spend time with me and not expect me to spend loads of money. You generally like spending time with me and i can't help but love you for all of it. I completely understand if you don't feel the same way, but you deserve to know how much i truly love you."
Sayaka looked down into her lap after speaking, scared for Mukuro's reaction.

Mukuro was completely stunned. She wasn't expecting that at all.
She lifted Sayaka's head up and cupped her cheeks. She then leant in closer. She hesitated for a moment, feeling Sayaka's hot breathe against her own lips.
"May I?" She asked, waiting for Sayaka's reply.
Once Mukuro got the nod of approval from Sayaka, she closed the gap between them, kissing Sayaka.
It was magical.
It was like fireworks had just gone off in Mukuro's heart.
The feeling in her stomach was wild.
Her head was racing with thoughts.
Mukuro smiled slightly, still kissing Sayaka.
Mukuro was once again pushed down by her shoulders as Sayaka sat on her stomach, once again straddling her.
The two broke this kiss so they could breathe.
"I love you too, Sayaka. Wasn't it obvious enough?" Mukuro said.
This caused Sayaka to lean back down, kissing Mukuro once again. This continued for a few minutes, the girls parting to breath then continuing the kiss. Once they had finished having their moment, Sayaka sat up, her hands on Mukuro's breasts for support.
"I've been waiting to do that for so long.." Sayaka said, gently pressing her pointer finger to her lips and smiling.
"It was even better than i imagined." Sayaka continued.
Mukuro smiled at her girlfriend, putting her hands on Sayaka's thighs.
"You've been... waiting to kiss me?" Mukuro asked, surprised.
Sayaka nodded.
"Ever since the day you came home and i was crying because i missed you." Sayaka said, slightly embarrassed to admit that.
"And you didn't tell me how you felt sooner?" Mukuro asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No because i was scared that you wouldn't feel the same and it'd be awkward and i really cant afford to lose you, Mukuro. I love you too much."
After saying that, Sayaka got off of Mukuro's stomach, laying down next to her and wrapping her arms around the younger girl.
"Did I not make it obvious enough that I liked you back?" Mukuro asked, running her fingers through Sayaka's hair.
"I just thought you were playing along to keep me happy." Sayaka said.
"Of course not. If i'm being honest, I wanted to come here today because I was going to tell you that I liked you." Mukuro said, followed by a small laugh.

The two laid in silence for a while, just enjoying watching the sunset.
They decided to go home after Mukuro said that she was getting tired.

The drive home was peaceful.
The couple were playing spotify on the radio (definitely Taylor swift, Mitski and Girl in red).
Sayaka would glance over at Mukuro every few minutes, just to make sure she was okay.
Mukuro fell asleep after about 20 minutes of driving.
Sayaka noticed this and smiled a little. She truly did adore Mukuro.

Once they got back, Sayaka gently shook Mukuro in order to wake her up. They then went to Mukuro's room and the younger girl fell asleep almost straight away.
Sayaka laid away for a little bit before also going to sleep.
