"Shit." I mutter out yet another curse. My contact lens had fallen down the sink drain and I was trying to reach my way through the pipe to get it. Fully aware of how much effort I was putting into a useless hope. There'd be no way I'd be able to grab it. much less want to put it back in my eye after fishing it out. I slump onto the floor, leaning back against the porcelain tub. I had been trying to reach it for the last fifteen minutes. It was my last one, my last chance to be able to see. Well, maybe that wasn't exactly accurate.
I grumble out more curses as I stand and reach for my glasses. I slide them on my face. Their yellow frames perched on my nose. I glare at myself in the mirror, cringing at how I looked.
My godawful glasses that were far too big for my face. I never wore them outside, opting for contacts instead. I hadn't worn glasses outside since I was thirteen, sticking only to contacts. To make matters worse, I can't see without the monstrosity taking its place on my face. Well, unless I had my contacts...which I don't.
And here I was, fumbling around in my bathroom. When I was supposed to be getting ready for a date in, I looked down at my watch, twenty minutes. My boyfriend is the sweetest person alive, but there was no way in hell I'd want him to see me like this. Without a thought, I pull out my phone and type out a message to him.
Y/n:
Hey, I'm sorry to do this but I need to cancel. I'm not feeling all too great and I don't wanna give you whatever it is that I've got.I release a sigh. Thinking about how I handled the situation. I felt bad for lying, but at least he wouldn't have to see me like this. I could hide this part of myself a little while longer. My phone buzzes with an incoming message
The bf:
Oh no? How're you feeling?? Do you need me to get you anything?
Don't worry about canceling. We can always reschedule for when you're feeling better.Y/n:
I'm okay, no need to worry about me. You're honestly the sweetest <3I needed to place an order for more contacts. Maybe if I was lucky I could get them by lunch tomorrow and we could go out for dinner.
The bf:
Feel better and let me know if there's anything I can do for you!
I send him back a smiley face, then sigh. I set my phone on the counter, glaring at the glasses on my face."This is your fault." I tell them.
Now that I'm no longer going on a date I decided to put my pajamas back on and turn on a movie. After starting the second movie in my Pirates of the Caribbean movie marathon my eyes begin to get heavy. And before I know it I've fallen into a deep sleep.
When I wake up, it's not because an alarm went off or the nice dream I was having ended. No, it was because of the rapid knocking at my door. I look down at my watch, checking the time. I had only been out maybe twenty minutes. Perhaps the pizza I had ordered mid-movie was being delivered early.
Nope. When I open the door, I fully expected it to be some dude in a visor holding the box of pizza I ordered. I nearly scream when I see it's my boyfriend, Asahi, standing on the other side of the door. I slam the door shut in my surprise. What was he doing here?
"Y/n? Are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you." His soft voice filled my ears and I felt horrible for slamming the door in his face. But I was in a panic.
"I uh...what are you doing here?" My voice cracks. I look down at my clothes. Sweats and a tank top. It wasn't necessarily anything he hadn't seen me in before. But I hadn't brushed my hair after taking a nap. I must have looked like a mess. Not to mention the glasses.
