"Are you serious?" Liam asked once his brother had explained everything. The office was already all over him to place Fulcrum behind bars due to her crimes of breaking and entering along with stealing. However Liam didn't think his older brother had it in him to arrest the girl who he used to visit after saving her. He hadn't interacted with Felicia much when she was still recovering since the sight of any unfamiliar man caused her to panic. But Liam always knew that she was a sweet kid who just needed a family.

"Of course I'm serious," Walker responded. He didn't need to hear another lecture about letting her get away, he had already heard it from James. "All this time I thought she was safe with a new family when she's been out stealing!" He exclaimed. After his major freak out where it looked like he might try to push over a desk, he finally asked why fate had to be this cruel. Even if it was his job to catch criminals, he didn't believe Felicia was a criminal. Something more had to be going on here, and he was going to find out what.

"You're not to blame Cordell and you shouldn't drive yourself crazy with that," Liam said to him. "She made the choice to break the law and now she has to face consequences." He knew that wouldn't be easy for his older brother to hear but Walker needed to hear it.
"She's not a bad person Liam," Walker said immediately. "And I don't have any evidence to prove that she's doing this for her own self interests."
"Cordell no matter how good her intentions are she is stealing…" Liam trailed off when his brother began yelling.

"Don't you think I know that!?" He exclaimed. "Whatever she is doing is wrong and I hate it! But I don't think she is a bad person," he continued. "And if she is, I will deal with it," Walker hoped that it wouldn't come down to that. Felicia meant a lot to him despite only knowing her for about two weeks, even Emily had adored her. "I need some air." He said walking outside leaving his little brother standing there. Nearby their parents were watching and asked Liam if the girl was really Felicia, he said it was and shook his head when they asked if Walker would be alright.

"Given how much he loved the girl I don't think he has it in him to lock her up." Liam said to himself.
"Then if that's the case you might have to be the one that does it," his father responded. Liam didn't want to since it was possible his brother had a point. "I know you don't like it son but sometimes you have to do what's right, even it doesn't feel good."
"I know," Liam answered. "I just hope Cordell remembers that."

At the same time Walker was pacing around his yard and finally decided to sit down on the nearby bench to avoid creating a hole. The cool night air brushed past him and it brought back a lot of memories. The day after the fire, he couldn't resist to check up on Felicia. He knew it was weird but he just couldn't the image of her terrified eyes out of his head. So after finishing up a case involving a man stealing from stores and using a chocolate stand as a cover. He walked into the hospital and the nurse looked surprised to see him.
"Oh Ranger Walker I wasn't expecting you." She said.

"To be fair I wasn't either but I wanted to check up on Felicia." He answered. Maybe he missed it but he thought the nurse frowned when he said that.
"Well she has been asking for you, but be gentle with her, we can't have any male be near her," the nurse explained. "I can't be certain but I believe it's because she was abused in the past." Walker couldn't stand the thought of anyone hurting his kids, so how could anyone do that to their own kid? Naturally he acted professional and followed the nurse to Felicia's room.

The ten year old was sitting on her bed wearing a hospital gown and reading a comic.
"Wow Black cat is so cool." Felicia said smiling.
"Felicia you have a visitor," the nurse said. Felicia jumped at the sound of her voice and placed her comic down. She recognized her visitor as the man who saved her yesterday and became very happy. "I'll leave you two be." The nurse said walking away. Walker wasn't sure what to say but walked over to her bed where she instantly hugged him.
"I remember you, you're the man who saved me." She said.

Walker wasn't expecting to be hugged by her since normally she never wanted to be hugged, but he returned the gesture and asked how she was feeling. Felicia said that her head hurt and that she was still coughing a bit, but felt better.
"I'm glad I see you found that comic," Walker said picking up the marvel comic she had been reading. "Black cat huh?" He asked.
"Yes I think she is very cool and we have the same name," Felicia answered. "So this book is called a comic." Walker wondered how she didn't know what a comic was, and when he asked her about it she said her mother never let her do anything.

"You mean she never let you have fun?" Walker asked.
"How do you have fun?" Felicia asked. After hearing that Walker decided that he couldn't just leave this poor girl alone after today, he needed to let her experience being a real kid before she recovered.
"I'm not the best teacher but I'll teach you." He said to her. Felicia's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree and she felt like crying.

"You're very nice and I wanted to thank you sir, you saved me."
"You don't have to call me sir and there's no need to thank me, I'm just doing my job." Walker answered. He wondered how old this girl was because she wasn't talking like a ten year old at all.
"Okay so what should I call you?" Felicia asked.

"Walker," he responded. "That's what everyone calls me unless it's a family member." Felicia proceed to ask him many more questions, some were about his career and others were about his family.
"Can I meet your kids one day?" She asked.
"If you promise to behave," Walker responded teasing her a bit. Felicia laughed and said that she always behaved. "I think every kid says that, let's hope you mean it." The rest of the day consisted of the two of them bonding and Felicia asking if she could save people like him.
"Someday I want to be just like you," She told him "I want to be a superhero to."
"I wouldn't say I'm a superhero." Walker answered not really seeing himself as the hero she wanted him to be.

Felicia blinked at him and asked if he saved people and stopped bad people from doing bad things. When he answered yes and that he tried he best, she declared he was a superhero and Walker wasn't able to resist her baby doll eyes. None of his kids had ever managed to get him to crack with theirs but Felicia broke him easily.
"Oh that is a dangerous weapon, use it for good." Walker answered.
