It was her birthday, and for unlike her previous ones. She was actually happy when she woke up. Felicia was still cheerful from seeing Walker the previous day, it was happier then she had been in a long time. Her nurse didn't seem pleased though and said that she really shouldn't worsen her condition by avoiding rest. Felicia thought that was silly and told her nurse, that Walker was her friend.
"Walker makes me happy so if he comes I want to see him."

"Felicia you shouldn't get too attached to him," her nurse responded. "Once you get better you will be with a new family."
"Why can't I go with Walker?" Felicia asked. That seemed like the logical solution to her since he seemed nice. The man also had other kids so she would have other children to play with finally.
"Oh sweetie I'm afraid thats not how it works, plus he's a stranger." The nurse explained. Felicia got upset and crossed her arms declaring that she didn't want a new family.
"No they will be like mommy and not love me!" She exclaimed.

"Hey I promise you that you won't have to deal with that again," the nurse said to her. "Your mother wasn't a nice person but there are good people out there Felicia, you just have to look for them." While that didn't exactly make her feel better, she stopped screaming and the nurse left since the button went off from another room. Felicia then felt very alone and laid back into her bed. Her loneliness didn't last long though because later in the day Walker came to visit her again. Only this time he had a pretty lady with him, and Felicia instantly thought she was a princess.

After getting out of her bed and giving Walker a hug, and asking who the pretty lady was, the ranger explained that it was his wife Emily.
"You look like a princess." Felicia said trying to be nice.
"Why thank you sweetie, Cordell you didn't tell me she was so sweet." the woman responded.
"I did so you just weren't paying attention," Walker answered teasing her a bit. "She is right you do look like a princess."
"Walker how come you didn't tell me you had a princess?" Felicia asked. " A hero always get one."

"I guess he's just good at keeping secrets," Emily said. She brought the girl closer to her and Felicia trusted her instantly. Just like Walker she had this presence that made her feel safe. The girl wasn't sure why she trusted them but she just did. "Like he's surprise for you." Felicia became very excited and asked how they knew it was her birthday.
"Because I know everything." Walker declared. He actually didn't know and according to the nurse her birthday wasn't actually today but two weeks from yesterday. The nurse also told him that she hadn't been sleeping well so he thought, a stuffed animal would help.
"Really do you know everything as well?" Felicia asked Emily.

"No and he actually doesn't know everything," Emily explained. "He is just being silly." Felicia laughed and asked what her surprise was. Felicia woke up from her dream and rubbed her eyes, her bed wasn't much just a sleeping bag on top of an old cot. But at least she got a lot more than she used to, getting out of the sleeping bag she realized that something was missing. It was her stuffed black horse, that wasn't uncommon since sometimes Asher took it when he had nightmares. But she still tore her bed apart looking for it, sure enough it had only fallen off.
"There you are Emily," she said picking up the toy. It was pretty old and needed a few stitches on the legs, but Felicia still loved the black pinto horse. "Sometimes I think you have legs of your own."

Originally her horse's name was just blackie, she shook her head at the reminder of how her mind worked back then. However after she heard that Emily had been killed, she named it after the lady who had made the gift for her. While Walker had given it to her, Emily had made the stuffed animal herself and Felicia would always be grateful for that. It allowed her to have a little fun with Stella and August, since they both wanted to play with her right away. They had to teach her how to since she never had before, she missed them as well but wasn't sure if they remembered her now. It had been ten years after all and a lot can happen in ten years, but there was time for the past.

She gently woke her son up and spent the morning with him since she was leaving again later that day. Putting off her meeting with Walker was no longer an option, since his partner had quit the force, James got very hurt and Serano was finally dead. All of that had happened in the amount of time Felicia chose to continue her quest of taking down Arthur avis. But she couldn't run anymore after days of silence it was time to make contact.

Walker wasn't happy when Arthur avis came to hq while James was in the hospital recovering. The man looked like a typical business man but had this look in his eyes, that put him on edge.
"And you said that Fulcrum has been stealing from you for four years?" Another ranger asked him.
"Yes but it was only two years ago that she really stepped up her game, I don't even know what she wants." Avis answered.
"You have history with her sir?" Walker asked. Something had happened between these two and it was why Felicia was looking for dirt on him.
"Oh no ranger, she's just a messed up kid." Avis answered. Walker wasn't buying that and told Arthur that he could go.

"I know that look you think he's lying," the ranger said. Walker said nothing and was busy trying to think of a way to reach out to his old friend. "I know this means a lot to you but you can't let your emotions get in the way of your job."
"I won't trust me in fact I'm going to go find her, in the meantime have my brother look through that drive," Walker said standing up. "She gave it to us for a reason."
"Alright but you know that you'll have the DA if you can." The ranger reminded him. Before Walker could answer, his phone vibrated and when he checked it he saw a message from an unknown.
We need to meet, I promise everything isn't at seems, meet me by sidestep tonight 🙏- F
