If anyone said dating Aiden Johnson was difficult, they'd be wrong. Dating Aiden, the captain of the football team, is every girl's dream, and I, Kamryn Loveless, am living that dream. Unless there is a girl that is a lesbian or something, but even then Aiden could turn her around pretty quick.
I don't mind anyone that is a queer, but I don't particularly care either. There is this girl, Amie Parker, in my Precalculus class. She seems to struggle with math, so I help her. She's a pretty girl, I have to admit.
She has pale white skin, dark brown hair, and brown eyes. She has a nice smile too, and her laugh is nice. She's a really nice person, but she's a little bit awkward. Everyone has kind of wondered about whether or not she's queer, but either way I don't really care.
Sometimes when I'm over at Charlie Sampson's house, with the other seniors, we'll be drinking and smoking, stuff like that, and I'll see Amie skateboarding. She seems to like it, as I see her more often than not when I'm there. However, I just keep drinking. I don't smoke, but I drink.
I know I shouldn't do either, but it's better than being a loser. Amie isn't a loser, but she isn't popular by any stretch. She's kind of distant when it comes to talking to people. In all honesty, she just doesn't talk to many people. She has a couple friends, Jaden Torres and Cairo Sanchez.
She and I are friends too, I guess, but I don't talk to her outside of Precalculus. I know a little bit about her. I know she likes reading and rom-com type movies. Her style is baggy jeans and the same leather varsity jacket every day.
I'm pretty sure she's into thrift shopping because I've seen her car parked at the thrift store too many times to count. I'll admit, it's a smart idea. I went to a thrift store once and bought this pretty cute pair of ripped jeans. Ripped jeans are my thing.
Ripped jeans are something I've seen Amie wear maybe twice. I wear them every day with pretty small crop tops. I shop at American Eagle and Buckle mostly, they usually have what I'm looking for. I also like going to Barnes And Noble for books sometimes.
I mostly do it for the aesthetic, if you will. It looks cool to have books lying around my room all the time. Amie genuinely likes reading, sometimes I'll drive by the park and see her lying on the big green slide reading. I caught a glimpse of a book she was reading once while I was waiting at a red light.
She was reading something called 'Uglies'. I couldn't see who it was written by. She read that for a couple of days and after that I'm pretty sure she finished it. She is definitely fast at reading. She's told me before that her mom thinks she's weird for reading.
My mom, Dylan, died a couple years ago. I was a freshman in high school when she was diagnosed with respiratory cancer. She went under chemotherapy for the 3rd time about 8 months later, and she died after that. Now it's just my Dad, my brother and I.
My dad, Preston, has been here for my little brother, Jake, and me since my mom died. We moved to an apartment nearby since we couldn't afford our house anymore. The reason my mom died is because she smoked. The smoking is what gave her respiratory cancer.
That's why when Aiden offers me a cigarette, I always refuse. I haven't told anyone about my mom, not even my best friend, Karli Nelson. Karli has been my best friend since Kindergarten. Her younger brother, Logan, and my younger brother, Jake, are best friends too.
Jake is a strange 11-year-old, that's for sure. He doesn't like anything most kids his age like. He likes things that someone Amie's fourteen-year-old sister, Lilli, would like. Scary movies, scary books. He likes all that, too.
I also love scary movies. My favorite is 'Before I Wake'. It's about a family who recently lost their son, so they take in a new little boy. As it turns out, the new boy's dreams come to life. However, so do his nightmares.
Amie is a little bit timid. She likes books of the thriller genre, but she hates scary TV-shows and scary movies. I don't see why, because they're great, but I obviously can't speak for her. She's always just going to be the reading skateboarder girl to me.
