If being that one openly gay kid wasn't the only thing that helped me expand my incredibly small social circle, then Mitchell and Cameron weren't gay in Modern Family. And let me tell you, Mitchell and Cameron were most certainly gay.
Junior year was tough for me, but Amie Parker was the one to help me through it. She is also gay, but I am the only one who knows that. Not even our other best friend, Jaden Torres knows. All though, I'm pretty sure he can tell. Amie has always said one thing about me.
"Cairo Sanchez, I wish I could as confident as you."
I wish she could, too. She has this major crush on Kamryn Loveless, one of the most popular girls in the senior class. Kamryn is also dating the captain of the football team, which I find to be a tiresome high-school drama cliche.
It's almost like Amie is basing her love life off of The Little Mermaid. Amie lives in an underwater oasis that's entirely protected from all things bad, and she wants to leave it to go be with her princess. Granted, I'd want a prince, but that's besides the point.
Jaden is straight, and there is no doubt about that. He's dating Breanna Maverick, this one girl that thinks being a teen mom makes her quirky. No one really knows who's kid it is, but I sure as hell hope it isn't Jaden's. He's a great guy, but he's only eighteen.
He would be a great father if Breanna's kid does just so happen to Jaden's. No one really knows anything about the kid either, but all we know is that Breanna was 9 months pregnant about two months ago, and her and Jaden had been together for about a year before that.
At one point it's rumored that she was also dating Aiden Johnson during that time, and Jaden knows about that, but I don't think he believes it. Amie and I have tried telling him that Breanna is a bad apple, but he seems to only eat the apples that fall to far from the tree.
My twin sibling Jupiter and I live together with my stepmom, Natalie. Our biological mom, Alexis, passed away after giving birth to us. Our dad, Max, was a fire fighter before he died. He died when we were thirteen.
A whole bunch of debris from a burning house came down on him, and he died from his broken ribs puncturing his lungs. His lungs weren't super healthy to begin with because of all the smoke he inhaled, so the odds weren't particularly in his favor once his right lung collapsed that day.
My stepmom takes good care of Jupiter and I. We always call her mom, but she insists that we tell people that she's our stepmom so we don't take away credit from our biological mom. I never met Alexis, but she was a strong woman from what I've been told.
Jupiter always tells me that they wish that they got the chance to meet Alexis, because they feel that she would've been proud of how far they've come. I think that Jupiter misses our dad less than I do, which is totally fine, considering Jupiter was always a momma's kid.
I always was closer to my dad than I ever was with my mom, but we've grown closer now that we talk to each other every day. She's been there for me ever since my dad died. But, in the end, my cousin, Jack Colson, has been my shoulder to cry on.
He's the older brother figure that I never had. When my dad died, he was the one I turned to. I got the call that he didn't make it, and I raced down the street to his house. He was there to tell me that it would all be okay.
