Chapter nine

Erik

I paced the length of the room as Julian talked through strategy, I wasn't really paying attention when I felt a surge - it was Sky somhow.. I knew it.

"I felt her" I said stopping directly in the middle of the room,

"That's good we know she is okay, you can put your mind at ease now Erik, if they had wanted to kill her they would have done so already you can be sure of that." Julian replied seemingly a little relieved.

Somehow this didn't calm me, not even a little bit. If they bound another wolf to her then I would lose my mate, we would both be forever in pain at being kept apart. Not to mention the prophecy would crumble.

"So we attack tomorrow, at dawn" Julian said after several hours of my insisting for us to do something by this time tomorrow.

I clutched Sky's necklace and prayed that she would be okay sending out a mental message wishing she could hear it

Sky

Reaching for my necklace for comfort I panicked, it was gone, my dad had given that to me..

"In" The man shoved me into a room full of smug looking boys and men of various ages, stumbling over a step I fell to the floor flustered, seeing a hand out before me I took it and felt heat surge from his hand into me, recoiling from his hand as though it were a red hot poker I collapsed back to the floor shocked, looking into his eyes I saw everything the exact opposite to what I saw in Erik's, this guy had Black flippy hair that swooped across his right eye in a very hot 'scene' style, his eyes were electric green and drew me in - wait what on earth was this about, I had a mate who was this guy to make me feel this way?!

He offered his hand to me once more with a seemingly genuine smile across his face, however compared to Erik's soft loving smile this guy had an edge to his, a sense of danger - excitement, which caused the corners of my mouth to begin turning up.. No control yourself Sky! you love Erik this is just some random guy who has played part in kidnapping you.

Ignoring his outstretched hand I heaved myself up,

"Ah I see you two have already made a connection" Said a man who I new immediately was the Alpha of this pack, he was very big and muscly and at least 5 or 6 years older than Julian. "Sky this is Xavier, and he, is your mate"

"WHAT!?" I yelled without intending to, seeing the puzzled look on Xavier's face I stared at him, I felt something there....

"Maverick, why doesn't she know it?"  Xavier asked the alpha, eep.. he actually believes we are mates..

"For I already have a mate and his name is Erik, I belong to his pack" I lifted my shirt a little to reveal the mark,

"But Xavier is also your mate - you are the one of prophecy, have you not yet heard it?" Maverick said puzzled.

"No I haven't" I replied bluntly "And that won't change a thing."

"Then let me recite you a part which WILL change your mind;

A forked road, a choice to be made, one pure if discarded will fall, - the other tarnished awaiting redemption.

To save one will change the other in ways untold, fate lies in the path of the white wolf, the last of her kind a power in the form of a girl, to be wielded for hope or devastation"

"So... I have two mates...?" I asked astonished,

"So it would seem, aren't choices just wonderful?" He asked smugly.

I had a choice? Xavier or Erik..

"Sadly we shall be making this choice for you - tomorrow you and Xavier shall be bound thus removing the brand of Erik's pack, however for tonight you shall stay with Xavier - get to know your mate hmm" Maverick said turning and leaving.

I assumed from the part of the prophecy he had told me Erik was the pure one and Xavier the tarnished, for judging by looks alone it fit perfectly.

"Sky?" Xavier said with a dangerous smile, "I shall show you to our room."

Oh crap was I going to be in the same bed?

reaching his room I looked at the walls - they were covered with random things stuck up including posters, he seemed to like all the same bands as me.. huh funny.

"Nice taste" I commented,

"Thanks" He said with a caring smile followed by a wink, "You can sleep in my bed I'll sleep on the floor" He said automatically,

"Are you sure? I don't want to kick you out of your bed" I replied a little scared

"It's fine, honestly, anyway to formerly introduce myself my name Is Xavier, and I know you can feel the bond between us" I mumbled in agreement "Awesome" He said, I turned to say something about how my bond to Erik was stronger to find him inches from me, "So there is nothing wrong with me kissing you" before I had time to respond his lips crushed against mine in a way completely unlike Erik's, the passion from Xavier was so overwhelming as he clutched at me with a little force pulling me close, and before I knew it I involuntarily had one hand tangled in his hair and the other about his neck and I was kissing him back - and I mean really kissing.

Erik

I was suddenly aware of happiness - pleasure even, radiating from me causing a smile to attempt to appear, but these weren't my feelings.. they were coming from my link to Sky.

"She has met him" I said to the guys bluntly as we were preparing ourselves for battle my heart sinking, they had introduced her to Xavier, and by the feel of it they were getting on well, I balled my fists and clenched my teeth. 

He who according to prophecy was my exact opposite, the bad to my good.

Xavier, my rival, my brother.
