"Azazil, the sun has set. It's time for prayer," Seraphiel instructed.
Azazil gulped and sucked on his thumb. "But I don't wanna!"
"Why don't you want to?" Seraphiel asked as he bent down to pick Azazil up.
Azazil ran into a corner with his stubby little legs and pretended he couldn't see Seraphiel.
"Azazil, answer me. Why are you refusing to pray?"
Azazil quivered and turned to face Seraphiel. "B-because it's boring!"
"What did you say, Azazil?" Seraphiel inquired, his ire rising.
"I said that it's boring!"
Seraphiel slapped Azazil across the face. "You spoiled little brat," he whispered. "Do you have any idea how lucky you are?"
Azazil burst into tears and held his wounded cheek in his hand. "W-why?"
Seraphiel didn't answer him, opting instead to pick Azazil up. "Come on, Azazil," he called. "The sun has set, and it's time to pray."

Azazil rubbed his eyes as he awoke, narrowly missing a tree branch. He'd been sleeping in a forest ever since the healing center kicked him out, and he absolutely abhorred the place. It was hot and muggy, he could barely sleep, and worst of all, insects were everywhere.
Azazil groaned as he thought of all the luxuries he was accustomed to when he stayed at Dareios' house. A plush bed, scrumptious food, and nearly round the clock service had spoiled him.
Come to think of it, why had Dareios given him such luxury in the first place? Could it be that he actually cared about Azazil?
Azazil shook his head. No, he most certainly had ulterior motives. No demon would ever treat someone nicely, especially not for free. But what could Dareios' motives be? Killing angels? Terrorizing the poor? Crushing others beneath his feet?
He thought of many motives, but none seemed to fit what Dareios had in mind. He definitely wanted to win Azazil over, but for what, exactly?
Azazil soon ceased thinking; it had hurt his brain too much. As he drifted off to sleep again, he repeated "Dareios is a monster. He needs to suffer," over and over again.
But why did Azazil have a feeling that it wasn't so true after all?
