Please Don't Go

It's My Life/Danny

I knew I was about to do something really stupid. I don't know if me wearing a white tee shirt, a green button up shirt, and cargo pants was ironic or not. I really have been around Steve too long. Now I am about to do something stupid. I was about to go into a building with no back up.

I kicked the door open and search the place. I was more to the back when I saw men with guns. I used Steve's SIG-Sauer MCX Rattler PSB. I took out five men. I took out Steve's SIG-Sauer P226 E2. Took out another man. Then I walked into a room and was hit. I played dead. The guy came closer to me and I shot him. Then another came into the room and we did hand to hand combat. He hit me in the face a few times and I got up and finally had him down. I picked up Steve's gun and looked back and saw the guy was about to shoot me. I shot him. Then went to find Steve.

I then cleared all the rooms and found Steve in the next to the last room. I ran over to him after clearing the rooms. I checked for a pulse and he had one. I called for help. I put my hand around his and found he had something in his hand. I put it in my pocket.

"Steve, please be ok."

I followed the ambulance. I had my lights on and sirens. I then went into the hospital and grabbed Steve's hand as I was running with the medics. I had my hand on Steve's. I then was told to stop.

I went to where I worked. I went to my office and sat underneath my desk. I then reached into my pocket and took out what Steve was holding. It was my badge. I was crying silently. I put everything back to where it was and hid.

"Adam, did you leave the smart table on?"

"No."

"Grover, Tani, did you?"

"No, Junior."

I then heard them say they were going to the crime scene.  I waited and they came back. I heard them say they found my gun and phone. I then heard about there was eight dead. I had three stitches in the side of my face. The bullet was to the vest. I was ok.

I then heard the call Adam took. Steve is at the hospital. I then heard them leave. I knew that Steve was going to be ok. I left and went to see Grace and Charlie. I was at Rachael's house and I talked Stan. He let me in. I saw Rachael had a shocked look on her face. She went up and hugged me.

I then went to Grace's room and saw she was sleeping. I sat next to her and I put my hand on her head. She woke up. She looked at me. "Danno, your ok."

She hugged me. "Yes, Monkey I am ok."

"Uncle Steve is missing."

"Monkey, he is hurt. I found him."

"He was here everyday with us until he went missing."

I smile and went to check on Charlie. He was laying in bed and it looked like he cried himself to sleep. I used my hand to gently get the tears out of his eyes. He woke up looked at me and gave me a hug.

I then went back to work this time I hid under Steve's desk. I heard Adam come back. I heard him talking to someone.

"I know. I am not sure who found Steve but I know someone broke into HQ. I will call you back."

I know he had to find the camera footage of me entering HQ. I came out of hiding and was very quiet. I then stood next to him and he did not even notice. He was talking to himself.

"That is odd. Why would this person brake into HQ to save Steve. I know the building that Steve was in had footage of what happened. That is really odd. One guy took out all those guys? He must have been one ticked off person. That can't be."

He had a shocked look on his face. "I had to save Steve."

He jumped and looked at me. "Danny? What happened to you?"

I also had a haircut like Steve's. It was also the same color as Steve's. I was putting myself in his shoes if you will. I noticed he was wearing a button up shirt and his hair was styled like mine used to be. His hair was blond and he was not wearing cargo pants. I noticed he was wearing a tie. It was odd.

"I guess the car accident changed me. Not a word to anyone I am here."

With that I went back to hiding. I went to Steve's office and hid. Adam came in the office.
"What am I supposed to tell everyone?"

"The footage doesn't exist. That it got erased by accident."

He left me hiding in Steve's office. Everyone came back. I heard Adam say the footage was gone. He did say one attacker took out all the bad guys and saved Steve.

When they left I left and went to the hospital. I walked to Steve's room. I walked up to Steve and put my badge back in his hands.

"Get well soon Buddy. I love you."

I then took the Camaro back to HQ and went home. I knew I would have to show people I was alive. But, I was waiting for the right time.
