It's been a few days since the encounter with the strange boy in the park. Life goes on for "Aoba-san". It was now early Monday morning, the sun was shining through the curtains, the birds were chirping endlessly, and there was a strange figure looming over the blue haired boy...
"Aoba." They declared in a deep voice.
"Aoba. Get up."
The boy ignored his name being beckoned and rolled over groaning.
"That's it."
The figure grasped on to Aoba's blanket burrito and tossed the boy to the floor.
"OWWW WHAT THE HELL?!"
"I told you to get up"
"Koujaku?! Why are you in my room?!"
"You were oversleeping. You're going to be late for work. Breakfast is downstairs, get going." Koujaku explained and then left the room. Koujaku had been Aoba's housemate for a few years now. You could say he looked after Aoba.
Aoba's POV
'Damn you Koujaku, my back really hurts now.' I get dressed and head downstairs to find the breakfast I was told about. 'Muffins, sweet'. I grab a blueberry one and run out of the house. Ever since my encounter with Clear I've been keeping a sharp eye out for him. I haven't seen him since, I'm really starting to wonder if he's just a figment of my imagination. When I finally reach my workplace I unlock the door and switch the sign to open. Nowadays the manager is rarely around, Noiz and I (mostly me), pretty much run this place. Suddenly I hear some strange music playing. It was quite mellow, beautiful even. It wasn't like the fast paced beats that usually play in the store. I decided to follow the sound, heading out the back door into the alley.
'Is someone singing..'
The sound mysteriously died out. I turn to head back into the store, but crashed into someone and fell over. I look down to see him.
"Clear?!?!?!"
My hands were pushing down on his chest, holding myself above him with my legs between his. 'Well, at least he's real' I think to myself.
"Hello again, Aoba-san"
I stare at my reflection in his mask for a minute or two, trying to comprehend what was happening. After realizing we were still in this awkward state, I jumped up off of him.
"S-sorry Clear, I didn't see you there.."
I reached my hand out, which he accepted, and pulled him to his feet.
"In fact, how do you do that?"
"Do what, Aoba-san?"
"Pop up and disappear, out of nowhere"
"I'm not sure I understand, Aob-"
"Just never mind" I cut him off.
"Since you're here would you like to come in and see the shop?"
He simply nodded so I lead him inside.
I allow him to roam through the CDs as I head back to the counter. Not much longer did a few customers come, what looked to be a mother and daughter. I smiled brightly to them.
"Welcome to FYE, let me know if you need anything." I greeted.
"Thank you." The woman replied.
I looked back at Clear, he was using the headphones to listen to some music.
"Mommy! Mommy look it's that man from the news! The one from the men-"
"Don't you say another word Isabel, it's rude."
"But-"
"No."
The girl whimpered. She had been talking about Clear...he was on the news? Clear hadn't heard a word they said because he was still listening to music. The woman and her daughter approached me with a few Fall Out Boy CDs, the mom had good taste. I checked them out and decided I'd ask them about Clear.
"Thank you for stopping in, and hey uh, I hope you don't mind me asking but do you know that man?"
The mother covered her daughters mouth.
"He was on the news a few days ago. Look up the recent stories online. Goodbye."
That..was strange. Now I'm even more curious. Clear walked over to me, almost in a child like manner.
"I like them!" He said holding an Arctic Monkeys CD towards me.
"Hey me too, would you like to have it?"
"What do you mean Aoba-san?"
I grabbed the case from him.
"I'll buy it for you, as a repayment for finding my phone."
If I could see the expression on his face, I'd guess it was excitement.
"That's very kind of you Aoba-san, but I don't own anything to play it on."
"You don't have a CD player?"
"I don't have a home"
My mouth nearly dropped to the floor. What should I do? For how long has he been homeless?!
"Clear..would you like to come home with me tonight?"
What was I doing?
"You don't have to do that, Aoba-san.."
"I want to. Even if just for a little bit. I don't like the thought of you sleeping out on the street, no one deserves that. Just let me help you get back on your feet."
"O-okay..."
Normal POV
The day went on and the two headed home, well what was now home for Clear. Aoba set Clear up in the guest room and told his housemate about his new friend. Koujaku was pissed, but soon accepted the mysterious male. One question still resided in Aoba's mind:
'Who are you, Clear?'
