LANCELOT'S P.O.V
———————————————————-
So, Merlin's a prince. I knew that those rare occasions where he was graceful wasn't because he watches training. 'im going to ask him about it later' I thought.
I was walking away when I bumped into the king. "sorry sire" I said bowing slightly. ''its fine, Lancelot'' he said walking in the direction Merlin went. I continued walking away, when something accrued to me. Merlin is the most powerful sorcerer in the world, and is the lost prince of Mieldor. how does he keep all these secrets? what would Arthur think? I shook my head. I couldn't think about that right now. I had to think about how I was going to ask Merlin about it.
I continued down the hall when I saw Merlin staring out a window. 'perfect' I thought walking up to him. "so, sire, how's the servant life?'' I said emphasising the word sire. he looked at me, fake confusion on his face. "what? im not royalty" he said, with slight panic in his voice.
"oh yes you are, I heard what your knights said" I grinned. his face expression changed from confusion to authority. I never thought id see the day when Merlin looked like a real prince, a king even. "don't tell Arthur or anyone else, please. and don't use my title, anywhere. I don't like them" he said walking away, going back to his servant-ish ways.
if I didn't know better, I would have thought that Merlin was a real prince, with real manners and authority. but, since I do know better, I know he's a clumsy fool. I laughed at the fact that Merlin was not only royalty, and not only that he didn't like titles, which was weird, but the fact that Arthur has had royalty cleaning out his stables.
I was wasn't thinking about what Merlin could do as prince, but then I remembered, the prince of Mieldor was the best swordsman in the five kingdoms. but Merlin could barely hold up a sword. he must be really good at acting.
it makes me wonder, how much has Merlin been faking?
MERLIN'S P.O.V
———————————————————
Oh gods. Lance knows. I was pacing In my chambers. I knew I could trust him, its just that I didn't want anyone to know.
the knock on my door made me jump. "enter" I said ending my pacing. Arthur walked in, his face completely serious. "are you all right sire?" i asked, concern in my voice. "no, Merlin, there not" he said, his voice cracking at the end of the sentence. he sat on my bed, I sat on the other side of him.
"would you like to talk about it?" i asked, never knowing what Arthur wanted when he was sad. he nodded. "can you tell me what's bothering you?" I said, watching him carefully. he nodded again, but this time, saying something. "it's just that, im going into a kingdom that allows magic. and im helping them find there prince, who has magic as well. and I hate magic and those who have it. why should i help them?"
his words hurt when he talked about magic. but, I said what I could without letting go a lot of information.
"it all depends on who he is." i said, "magic itself isn't evil, only the person who uses it can choose if it shall be evil or good. and I believe that the prince of Mieldor is a nice man. and it all depends on how you picture it. people say that the kingdom of Mieldor is one of the nicest places in all of albion, and they say its all because of the people who rule it. and the prince is next in line, to show you, when and if you choose to accept magic and the people who use it, that it can be used for good, and beauty. but that's only if you choose to help the kingdom find its prince and regain the sole air to the throne."
once I finished my speech, Arthur looked up at me. "what if I do accept magic, but it all turns out to be bad?" he asks, clearly having trouble choosing what to do.
"then, you would know, or should know, that at least one sorcerer is on your side, no matter what," I said, talking about me, but since he doesn't know that yet, ill keep that part a secret. "who's the sorcerer?" he asked, clearly needing information. "now, that, you will have to find out yourself" I said getting up and leaving the king alone.
ARTHUR'S P.O.V

Once Merlin left, I began to think about what he said. that speech he gave was a great one. but it was about a touchy subject for me. what if Merlin was right? what if magic was a good thing? what if i have been looking at this all wrong? i could be putting innocent people to death.
I shook my head. no. I have always been taught that magic was evil. i cant change my mind now because of a speech Merlin gave me.
and what did he mean by, I would have one sorcerer on my side? If I hated magic, why would anyone with magic be on my side?
I hade to decide whether I would help Mieldor or not. it was one of the most difficult decisions of my life. do I stay with what I have learned since the day I was born, or go against everything i have known and help a kingdom.
but i don't only have to think about what I believe. but what would my people think of my decision? would they accept it? or would they go against me? what would my knights think? what would Merlin think?
My knights are against magic, but i sense that Lancelot doesn't hate it. nor Gwain. and what about Merlin? judging by the words he just spoke, he would be disappointed if I didn't say yes, but he would still stay on my side. for reasons I couldn't explain. (A/N: I can explain it. its simple, he.loves.you)
and i cant back out on my word. i already said I would help them get back there home. backing out on my word would show weakness, and i cant have that now can I?
after what felt like a long time, i left Merlin's small room. I went over to Merlin and Gaius.
"i have made my decision" I said, acting proud, but on the inside, i was unsure if I made the right decision.
