Breakfast was finished and you were on your way to see Ms. Venable. Her outburst scared you and yet you wanted to keep seeing her. You wanted to know how she was doing. You knocked on her door, clearing your throat. You glanced at the crack on the door, the wood slightly shredded. "M-Ms. Venable?" You called out, heading a loud crash behind the door.

You slowly opened the unlocked door, glancing around the room. Somewhere in the shadows, a creature stood tall. It had pointed protrusions at the top of it's head and growled as it breathed. It took a step forward, coming into the light. It's eyes glowed a piercing gold, making you take a step back. Dark red fur in the light, red like blood. You quickly broke into a run down the hallway, being grabbed by Ms. Mead when you turned the corner. You tried to get out of her grip, then shoved your face in her arms as you shook in fear. "There's a monster in Ms. Venable's room! I wanted to check on her and she- she-" "oh no. I should've known. Okay, look, calm down." Ms. Mead rubbed your arms, helping you catch your breath. "Ms. Venable is a werewolf." Ms. Mead quietly explained. "But werewolves are a myth." You whispered, confused. "Turns out they aren't. Look, I need you keep this secret. If you do, it'll keep you from punishments. You can break curfew for an hour, just don't tell anyone." She pleaded in a whisper.

You stared into Ms. Mead's eyes for a moment, gulping quietly. "I won't tell a soul." You promised, being pushed to be sent to your room.

You closed your door, falling to your knees. It made sense, it just had to make sense. The growl, the temper, the claw marks, the crack on the door. It made sense in a weird way. You decided to stay in your room, thinking. It's always the prettiest ones that have something weird, usually it's a small fascination with something like jam or cartoons. Not lycanthropy. You were laying on your bed, sitting up. Lycanthropy. Werewolves.

You ran to the library and scoured the books you had been reading. Then, you saw it. You snatched the book up, reading it carefully. Lycanthropy, lycanthropy, lycanthropy... A ha! You pointed at the page title. Lycanthropy, werewolves. You read the page, seeking it's knowledge.

Lycanthropy
Werewolves

Werewolves are very dangerous, primarily around the full moon. After several years of having Lycanthropy, it's bearer can transform at will when necessary. Often, it does come out during moments of extreme emotion such as excitement, fear, anger, or hunger. Werewolves are best defeated by weapons made out of pure silver, though over the years have been killed with more modern weapons with enough energy or ammunition.

You grimaced, not wanting to kill her. "I want to be on her good side..." You whispered to yourself.

Werewolves are often playful when excited and hold great pride in themselves. They can talk, though if listening carefully their voices are prominently composed through a growl. When hungry, feeding a werewolf peanut butter, meat, or snacks does help with their extreme appetite, however many accounts have found werewolves living off of fifteen pounds of meat per day alone.

You closed the book as you heard someone walk in. Turning to face who was there, you saw Ms. Venable standing there. She glanced at the book you were reading, trying to remain confident and cold in her expression. "Hello, Ms. Venable." You greeted quietly, seeing her contemplate her actions. "I'm sorry you had to find out about... My situation like that, it is very unbecoming of me and I need you to keep-" "does it hurt?" You cut her off, confusion in her eyes. "What?"

You took a small breath. "Does it hurt when you change into... A werewolf?" You asked, seeing her soften. "A little. It mostly itches." Venable mumbled. "Is there any way I can help?" Your eyes were full of hope, making Venable uncomfortable. "Why?" Venable glared, jaded and concerned. "Well, since I know of... Your condition, I want to make sure that our leader isn't in pain. We need you."

Venable bit her lip slightly. "Nothing more?"

"Nothing more."
