So about why he can kill monsters without godly metal. It's because his gear is blessed with holy shit. I mean his bullets are made out of crucixes and his blades were made with holy metal, which in this story basically making them unbreakable by normal means. Now can they be broken by a god or something, then yes. But with extreme difficulty.
