He didn't want to wake him up, never. Not when he looked like an angel, his cheeks puffed out and lips pulled in a small pout. But that lone strand of hair falling on top of his closed eyes were too tempting, and Soobin gave in to his temptations.
He softly brushed it behind his ear, causing Yeonjun to wake up with a jolt. Eyes red and wide, he looked up at Soobin, who was staring at him with teary eyes.
"Hyung, I'm so, so sorry. My neighbour came over to bake cookies, it's like a yearly tradition. It had totally slipped out of my mind."
"Oh. I thought you hate me or something which is why you'd never come," Yeonjun spoke with a breathy giggle.
"Hyung, how can I ever hate you? That's quite literally impossible in my dictionary."
Yeonjun laughed, "You look very cute, by the way. Not that you don't everyday, but yeah."
Soobin flushed a deep red, quickly taking out a bag of cookies to divert his attention elsewhere.
"I brought some cookies for you too! Let's sit first."
Brushing away some snow, they sat on the cold bench.
"Oh! It's us! Also, this is so tasty—" "The fox and the rabbit? Yes, it's us! We're Nickjudyz," Soobin said with a cheeky grin.
After they were done eating the remaining cookies, Soobin spoke up.
"Hyung, I'm sorry. I really wanted to do so much with you today but it got so late. You even built a snowman—"
"Yes, and I enjoyed it. So stop apologising. It's okay as long as I have you here, right now, right?"
"Mhmm, but hyung. Why do you have a bunch of sticky notes with you in that bag?"
Oh.
He had seen them.
"Uhm, nah they're nothing. You know how I carry them everywhere right? Yeah."
"But crumpled ones? Let me see them—" "No—" "Too late, I got them already heh." Soobin stuck his tongue out and dashed away from him with his bag.
"Soobin no—" Yeonjun froze, a yellow note already in the younger's hand.
Another.
And another.
Notes full of silly jokes and confessions, about how the taller never left his head, about how he had made a big mansion with a front garden inside the pinkette's heart, about how he loved seeing him smile and laugh, about how he loved being the reason behind them.
About how his eyes were the most beautiful things ever, and how the black orbs with galaxies of stars tuned into tiny little crescent moon with his hearty laughter, accompanied by his charming dimples.
About how he could write endless essays on him and they'll never be enough to convey just how much he loves him.
Loves him.
He loves him. Yeonjun loves Soobin.
Soobin looks up to meet Yeonjun's flickering gaze, eyes full of questions he knew the answers to, but he didn't want to be too hopeful.
"I had put them up on the trees, I kind of made a maze with directions and all. I... I wanted to confess.
Binnie, all the things I've written are true, and I don't have a huge vocabulary to bring out the words that would be enough to describe just how precious you are to me, and just how much I love you. It's not just love, it's a huge, huge amount of adoration at this point. And it's okay if you don't feel the same, I'll never stop loving you—"
Before he could complete his sentence, a large pair of arms were already around his waist, engulfing him in a tight hug.
"What do you mean I don't feel the same, hyung, I can bring all the stars to you if you ask me to, but nothing can be compared to your beauty. I love you so, so much too hyung. I love you much more than so much."
Yeonjun looked up, his cheeks permanently flushed with deep red, as he shyly asked, "So, be my boyfriend?"
The snowfall was as light as cotton bolls, settling down on the tip of their noses and their bright hairs.
Soobin lifted his chin up, gently placing his soft, chapped lips over the elder's plump ones as a reply.
A little peck on the corner of his lips, one on his red nose, two more on his warm cheeks and on his closed eyelids, and one gentle, yet firm kiss on top of his forehead, his arms wrapped around him like he's the most fragile and beautiful thing in the whole universe.
It left Yeonjun breathless.
"Merry Christmas, Binnie. I'll take that as a yes, and my Christmas present too."
A toothy grin, followed by a chirpy giggle and squeaky laugh. They were bubbling with happiness.
"Mhmm," an Eskimo kiss, "Merry Christmas to you too, hyung," a warm kiss on the elder's lips, "I'll take that as my present then," before pulling him impossibly closer and peppering his face with kisses.
Somewhere, Taehyun and Beomgyu were happily cuddling under their warm blankets, A Christmas Carol playing on the television, which was long forgotten.
Somewhere, Hueningkai was cuddled up with his plushies in front of his laptop, video calling his little crush back in the States.
And at the park between Yeonjun and Soobin's houses, there were two boys, happily chasing around the park, stumbling and falling down on the snow, loud laughters and soft kisses accompanying them.
They were all happy.
