"APRIL" Y/N yelled as she jumped into her friend's arms.

It hasn't been long since breakfast, the other turtle brothers had already come out and said hello. You didn't respond, you were still so uneasy from the situation. This still felt so unreal to you and it did for your parents as well. Back at home your mom was sobbing on the ruby red couch in the living room with tissue in hand. Your dad was a police officer and was next to your mother explaining how because you weren't missing for twenty-four hours there wasn't anything they could do just yet. The only one who wasn't worried was your little sister, your parents had told her you were staying the night at April's which is what they originally thought in the first place but when your over protective dad went to pick you up early in the morning you were nowhere to be seen. When Donnie gave your phone back to you, you weren't surprised when you saw the number of missed calls you received from your parents.

April hugged you tightly, you felt so happy to see another human again.

"Oh thank goodness you're alright! Y/N, what were you doing yesterday? You almost fell off the building, you're lucky Leo has fast reflexes." April looked at you and waited for you to speak while turning your head in different directions. She was searching for injuries like a worried mother.

Her and Casey had felt bad after last night, how could they even explain something like this? Enough people knew of the turtle's existence, the more people know the more their safety was at risk. They knew you weren't the type to snitch but this wasn't just something you could push under a rug and forget about. Especially since your dad was a cop.

"Uhm-" you swallowed down some spit so you could get rid of the dryness, "I don't know." You looked at Leo who had been looking at you the whole time.

Leo was the oldest and the leader of his team, he had a lot of experience with dealing with others and helping them when they needed it. He was very empathetic and had plenty of patience, when his little brothers were younger he remembered times when he saw them scared of new things. It was that part of him that made him want to help you when he saw how scared you were. He knew that much but he didnt know why he only felt that way with you and not any other human thats seen him, usually he didn't feel this strange pull on his heart.

"Leo, I'm sorry."

Leo's eyes widened a bit, your apology was sudden to him and everyone else.

"You don't need to be sorry, Y/N. We're just glad you're ok." He smiled and you felt a pinch at your heart too, he seemed so kind you started to wonder why you ever thought he'd harm you.

"Y/N has seen everything so are you POSITIVE she won't tell anyone about this, April?" Donnie looked at your friend with concern in his eyes.

"I'm sure she won't. She just wants to go home, right Y/N?" You nodded and tried to give Donnie a smile to confirm it.

With that Mikey pulled out your bag and handed it to you, you took it and everything was inside. You looked up and at Leo but he wasn't looking back at you this time, he looked focused but you didn't ask why or think too hard about it.
April took your hand in hers and with waves goodbye she blindfolded you and guided you through the sewers. Donnie recommended not having a sappy goodbye, he said you'd get too attached or more
curious.

"At least you got what you always wanted? You just got rescued from aliens and now I'm taking you home." April laughed a little trying to uplift the mood.

The sound of small splashes echoed as your shoes hit the concrete covered in sewage, you could take some dirt but not this much. You gagged. You thanked the heavens that you were blindfolded because the smell alone was enough, you couldn't imagine actually seeing what you were stepping in.
