TW: Mention of blood, swearing, blood

The longer Camilo took to take in the tragic scenery, the more he felt his sanity slip through his broken mind.

"I didn't do it.....I didn't do it...I didn't do it....." He vigorously shook his pained head, unable to bother about the drastic sobbing he let escape from his bloodied mouth.

His eyes felt frozen as they locked onto the dastardly mess that lay before him. Mirabels eyes had widened right before the attack struck.

The last picture taken. As if it froze in time.

"And you sure you didn't do it? If anything, the blood is on your hands." Carlos had opened his own door to a regular cold display.

"How did I do- this!!?? If anything, you killed her!" Camilo blinded himself away from the tragedy that uncovered its' horrified, thick, crimson ink before his weakened body.

"Did I? Well, what a shame." He placed his firm hand on Camilos shaken and deeply bloodied shoulder. "Now you know exactly how I feel."

Carlos lost his grip on Camilo and stood back, grinning slyly.

"It's funny, really. Knowing that the only person who cared about you is dead."

"What part of this is funny at all?! Are you insane or something?!"

"Take a wild fucking guess. Then you'll know, that's assuming you're too ignorant to even listen to me. Of course I'm insane!!"

Camilo wasn't able to strangle out his mind for words that never slipped out from his mouth. Paralysed, he found himself losing focus on everything once more, Carlos's words graduating to be more distant, blurry, as if they were never there at all.

He didn't understand what was happening. He didn't know why or how his life had twisted into this dark version of an endless chapter of his own suffering replaying over and over.

Nothing was clear to him anymore. Nothing made sense anymore.

Nothing was real anymore.

"Camilo? What's wrong?" A voice smashed through his dark mind and he regained his senses.

"Hm?" His ear no longer rang and the lost vision slowly returned and gifted his eyes with sight. "I-....Mirabel..?"

"Oh my God- how the fuck do you keep doing this?? Are you okay? You're bleeding a lot-"

So it was real? Carlos was there? Then how is Mirabel not dead-!?

"Camilo can you hear me?" Mirabel had gotten more desperate the longer Camilo took from time to respond.

"Yes!! I'm-....I'm okay. I think?"

"Okay.....that's good- you were just whispering some stuff and it didn't sound good at all..."

"Oh-?...You- you don't say.....what was I whispering?"

Mirabel felt her lips quiver, Camilos question hung in the air and silenced Mirabel for a moment.

".......You were talking about-......you know.....him." She swallowed down the guilt of even thinking about Carlos.

"I- no. I wasn't talking about that- you know I never would! You're just hearing things again!" Camilo felt panic bubble in his throat and he attempted laughing it off.

"Look, we have to talk about this later okay? Right now isn't a good time...the Guzmans are almost here and we still haven't figured out what's wrong with Casita yet-"

"Sh. Dolores can hear y'know? And she hopefully doesn't know what happened last night, remember if she finds out she'll tell everyone including Abuela which means if she finds out we're dead.." Camilo removed the blood dripping off of his shaken mouth and carefully lifted his weakened body off the ground.

"Right...I hadn't thought of that-" Something took Mirabels eyes by a sudden shock as she stood up with Camilo. "What's that.....?"

"Huh? What do you mean?" He swiftly turned his head to inspect the sudden disruption Mirabel had discovered.

"Is that......no it can't be-" She was quick to dash over towards the faint, viridescent shard of the vision Camilo tried leaving behind. It was clear to him now that a problem was never escapable, no matter how far you ran.

Mirabel dropped to her knees and held the fragment in her trembling hands, adjusting her glasses to squint at the glass.

"It's- it's nothing! I promise!" Camilo had stood up too quickly and felt his surroundings fall into a loop of spinning, before he scrunched his eyes shut and concluded the dizziness. He desperately tried grasping Mirabels attention away from the very thing he had just run away from.

"Camilo......this is Tío Brunos' vision- how did this get here?!" Camilos cousin was definitely concerned now, assuming she wasn't before already.

"I don't know- let's just forget about it! It's nothing-"

"Are you kidding me? What the fuck were you thinking? Sneaking off into Brunos' tower like that? You could've died!!"

"I- I know....I'm sorry but this is really scary, and hard for me to explain. I'll try though. Basically, what happened was I went into Tío Brunos tower and found this large room with a bunch of sand, there were small pieces of glowing green thingys and I made the stupid decision to put it together...afterwards I saw what his vision was.....and-" Camilo had escalated to the verge of him breaking down into tears.

"I saw myself! And the house- breaking-! I tried to stop it but I failed and before I could get to the candle you were also trying to get to the candle as well but you fell and then-" It was clearly hard for him to process, as he let a single teardrop escape from his widened eye.

"And then you died, but as if that hasn't tried to have happened already!"

"What?! What do you mean?" Mirabel let her hand loosen, dropping the piece of the vision. "Me-? Dead?"

".....I don't wanna talk about it. It's too hard for me to process it anymore, I just can't do this right now."

"Okay, well- just tell me what's going on later okay?"

"Okay.....I will," Camilo nodded miserably, clearly still expressing his lack in hope.

"Um- do you think the Guzmans are here yet? I mean they probably would be." Mirabel tried to change the depressing subject they were on. "If they are- we should go down and see,"

"Sure....I guess it would sort of take my mind off of this." Camilo inhaled deeply and walked towards his door.

"Just remember do not say a word about this, you know what'll happen."

"Yeah...yeah. I won't, don't worry." Camilo flashed a quick smile and stepped outside, where the unexpected light burned through his eyes, forcing him to squint.

"It isn't that bright. Come on," Mirabel playfully nudged him on his shoulder and walked downstairs towards the dining room.

"Hey! Just because you have your window open all the damn time doesn't mean I do as well!" Camilo called out to Mirabel, who in response, stuck out her tongue and happily skipped towards the dining room.

Camilo groaned and followed her downstairs, silently begging for this night to be at the very least a better disaster than the last.

Neither Camilo nor Mirabel noticed the third pair of eyes piercing onto them, carefully straining their ears for their conversation.
