(First of all, I am deeply sorry for not uploading at all for 5 months now I think- I've been really stressed out lately and it was hard for me to think about uploading and I fr had to go back and read my entire fanfiction to remember what it was about 🥲)
TW: Weapons and needles, physical violence
DOLORES POV:
If they knew.
If anyone knew what I was doing, she'd kill me.
She'd brutally impale me with a blood-tipped knife with no hesitation.
No remorse.
Nothing.
She was known for her violent acts, although not by many of the civilians, and those who unfortunately did dare to possess the knowledge of her countless murderous acts, well she'd just continue the savage works she had been doing for seven years now.
So why haven't I stopped her yet?
Because she knows of Camilo.
She knows him a little too much in fact... despite never talking to him.
What am I doing exactly?
I mustn't share.
Lily will find me.
3RD PERSON POV:
Skipping into the dining room, Camilo harshly threw away the disturbing thoughts, screaming at him away to clear his once content mind. He took note of his short breath from the run with his cousin just then, and he snatched a glass from the table, drinking the crystal clear liquid from it, as if it was the first time in weeks since his lips had touched water.
His throat ached the longer he drank.
"Woah- slow down Cam, you know how bad you cough when you drink that fast-" Mirabel let a sigh escape her mouth through the heavy panting, but too longing for water as well.
Camilo finally released the glass from his hands and onto the table, his heavy breathing louder. "Yeah, I guess you're right-"
"You think?" Mirabel shoved her shoulder against Camilos' playfully.
Camilo quietly laughed, glancing out a window.
Outside, the dark clouds had swallowed the arctic blue skies, drowning the bright sun in its' gloomy atmosphere. Camilo gently lifted out his palm through the open window, feeling sprinkles of rain pattering against his skin.
He withdrew his hand back inside, shivering from the frigid weather.
"Hm- I didn't think Mamá was upset..." He pondered, closing the window.
"Oh? She is? Why?" Mirabel looked at the closed window, feeling slightly cold afterwards. "Wow- she must be mad about something..."
"But what could it be?"
"Well- we should ask her later on." Mirabel assured him with a comforting smile.
Camilo's intention to reply was interrupted by a loud thud audible from the kitchen.
He dashed to the kitchen, followed closely by Mirabel, to find Dolores on the ground, rubbing her knees in mild pain. A basket had fallen from her grasp, however it had been turned over so the items placed inside were obscured.
"Are you okay?" Camilo slightly laughed and held his hand out to Dolores, who took no hesitation to take his hand.
"Mhm-! Fine- I'm fine...." Her tone in voice was unconvincing. She then looked at the basket, kneeling down and picking everything up and into the basket away from Camilo's and Mirabel's view.
"Hey, what's in that basket?" Camilo felt his curiosity itch at his mind again, which caused some irritation.
"A few decorations for tonight, you know- with the ceremony and all-!"
"The ceremony was yesterday Dolores...."
"Oh- right.."
"Are you okay?" Mirabel stepped up next to Camilo, a confused expression planted on her face. "Do you need sleep or something-"
"Sorry, I really have to go! Look at the time!" Dolores interrupted, stuttering. "Off to see a friend!"
Camilo noticed she had slipped a cloth onto the top of the basket, continuing to hide what was inside, but before he could say anything else, he felt Dolores push past him, frantically running towards the door.
"Wow- what do you think was in that basket?" An amused look spread across Mirabel's soon just plain confused face.
"Probably food or something, why else would she put the cloth over it?"
"Yeah, or maybe it's some sort of special surprise for Isa's proposal!"
Camilo began to silently agree with Mirabel, until he noticed what had been carelessly dropped from Dolores's basket on the floor.
"Or- maybe...." Camilo's eyes widened upon the sight of the thin but sharp knife, his voice shaken.
3rd PERSON DOLORES POV:
Manically pushing past every blind civilian in her way, Dolores urgently scanned the village, knowing that her time was limited to find her desired location.
At last after running past a few more crowds of dozens, basket carefully in hand, she reached a house at the edge of the Encanto.
There was nothing special about the house compared to every other place of residency, it was simple. To the blind eye it usually appeared as welcoming and inviting.
Dolores would painfully laugh at those who had absolutely no idea what it truly was.
Hesitantly, she stepped towards the door, curling her fist. She gently knocked on the wooden door three times and waited for response.
To her delight and dismay, the door was opened by a younger girl who appeared to be around only the age of 14.
"Hello... Lily." Dolores attempted to smile at the shorter girl in front of her, whose faded auburn hair obscured a slight part of her glowering expression. She smoothed out her desaturated orange dress and grasped Dolores by her wrist, harshly pulling her inside.
"I- brought the-"
"I know you did, I'm satisfied.... Now my sister can get what she deserves.." Lily's cold laugh would echo in Dolores's ears.
Lily kept dragging Dolores to a door further in the house, opening it, she walked downstairs, her grip on Dolores tight enough.
Finally, after another door, Lily stepped into a cold, dark, basement, turning on a small overhead light.
Dolores had always feared this room, since she had only seen it a few times, but after seeing all the needles and different liquids on a table, her uneasiness started to rise, afraid of what could happen.
"I gave you the weapons and the sedatives.. am I allowed to leave....?" Dolores stuttered, watching Lily place each knife in a perfect row.
She only felt her mouth curl into a dark grin.
"There's still a while left before the proposal, isn't there? Surely I'm allowed to have at least a little bit of fun before then, don't you agree?" Lily's hands reached for one of the knives.
"I- I really need to go back home-"
"Oh, interesting... I didn't know you wanted to get exposed..."
"Okay! I'll stay!! But please I'm begging you.. just let me live-.." Dolores pleaded, already the terrified look had deepened.
Lily sighed and walked towards Dolores, keeping her smile. "You know..."
She aimed the knife at Dolores's throat.
"I said those exact same words..... right before I lost my heart."
She plunged the knife through her skin.
