It was a bright Saturday morning.

Peter woke up, headed to the bathroom, and brushed his teeth.

After that, he went straight to the kitchen and asked his older sister, Deborah, why she wasn't done cooking.

"Mtcheeew! Are you okay?" Deborah asked in annoyance, scowling at him.

"I am very well as you can see. But you still haven't answered my question."

"This one dey mad this morning ni?" Deborah quizzed in her mind.

"Do I look like your house girl? I should wake up earlier than this and cook because Almighty Peter wants to eat breakfast early," she finally spat out at him.

"But you're a girl nau, and Mommy said girls are the ones in charge of all the house chores."

She clapped her hands together thrice.
"Well, I don't blame you. It is how you were trained, pampered like an egg!
Nonsense!" she retorted sharply.

"Who is that insulting in my house?" Mrs. Williams asked loudly, entering the scene.

"Mommy, as you can see, your son doesn't have manners. He came here and was asking me why breakfast wasn't ready and was even saying it with so much authority.
Do I look like one of his age mates or his maid?" Deborah ranted.

"And so? Madam, was it wrong of him to ask? Yes, he should have said it with more respect, but he is right, breakfast should have been ready by now."

"Mommy, so you're supporting him abi? Doesn't he have hands? Why can't he also learn how to cook? Am I the one that will follow him to university to cook for him?" Deborah replied.

"What are you saying? He is a boy. He is not supposed to do these things. My mother taught me that house chores are for women only! He is a man," Mrs. Williams snapped at her daughter.

Peter stood up and stuck out his tongue triumphantly at Deborah and left to his room.

As for Jedidah, she was already awake and helping her Mom in the Kitchen.

"After you bring down the food from the fire, make sure you get water and clean all the windows, and don't forget to wash the curtains I kept outside," Her mom instructed before leaving for her provision shop.

Jedidah only nodded because she was exhausted by the heap of work loaded on her.

After her Mom left, she let out a muffled scream and stomped her feet on the ground.

"Oooohhh... Who even said Saturday is sanitation day? African mothers will not kill me!"

"Who is that that wants to bring down my house this early morning?"

Chai! She forgot her Dad was still at home.

"Sorry, sir," was all she could say, and luckily, her Dad was already leaving.

"You're not serious. Come and open this gate for me, my friend," her Dad said as he headed towards the gate. She followed behind him.

On reaching the gate, he remembered something and turned.

He told Jedidah that the time for the youth fellowship was 3:00 pm and that she had to get there by Keke (local name for motorcycle, a popular means of transportation in Nigeria) because he wasn't going to come to pick her up.

She closed the gate and went back inside to tackle the mountain of work she had to deal with.

As she entered the house, Jedidah picked up her phone and searched for the perfect song to play before she continued her chores.

She decided to play all the songs in Minister G U C's album named "To Yahweh's delight."

As for brother Jacob, being the only child of his parents meant he was the boy and the girl of the house.

He woke up early and started his chores, with so much excitement because, he was later going to meet his "Igbo goddess," Isioma, and celebrate their two-month anniversary.

Little did he know that after their two months of being together, something hot was awaiting him.

It was already a few minutes to 3:00 pm, and Jedidah was contemplating which outfit to wear.

After bringing down half her wardrobe, she sighed in defeat, "I have nothing to wear!"

A few minutes of parading her wardrobe later, she finally chose a yellow gown and picked a black head tie with black shoes to match.

After she was done checking herself in the mirror, she finally closed the doors and left the keys with her neighbors, and headed to board a Keke to church.

As she drew near to the church gate, she grew very nervous.

"Should I go back? Is my dress okay? What will they think of me?"

She was deep in thoughts and the Keke driver had to tap her shoulder and request his money.

Jedidah paid him and went into the building.

"So help me God," she said while making a cross sign before entering the main door of the children's building.

As she entered, she saw a beautiful fair-skinned girl at the entrance, shining her teeth and signaling her to come inside.

"Welcome, beautiful girl. I am Jennifer. What is your......" Before she completed her sentence, recognized Jedidah as the pastor's daughter and gave her a hug still smiling and shining her pearly white teeth.

Jedidah replied, telling her she was there for the youth fellowship.

"Come let me introduce you to the other youths," Jennifer said with an effortless smile and Jedidah followed sheepishly.

"This one still dey smile like say she won the giveaway. Shey na Jesus dey make smiles like this?" Jedidah wondered in her mind.

Jennifer introduced her to a very handsome, muscular, cute, glowing young guy, saying he was the fellowship president.

Jedidah stood frozen, drooling over the handsome guy that stood before her.

"Hi! I am Joshua. Welcome to the fellowship," he said, stretching out his hand for a handshake.
Another J², huh?

She shook his hand and introduced herself, holding his soft, muscular hand for a longer time than necessary.

He had to clear his throat and withdraw his hand after a beat of awkward silence.

"I don disgrace myself finish," she thought, chiding herself.

And as for our lovey-dovey brother Jacob, he bought a cute-looking teddy bear as an anniversary gift for his 'girlfriend.'

He boarded a Keke to their famous hangout located close to his quarters.

He sighted Isioma and they went in.

After a little chit-chat, Isioma told Jacob that she wanted to tell him something, but he stopped her halfway and gave her the gift he bought.

She didn't collect it.

Staring at him sadly, Isioma finally spoke, "Jacob, I want a..... break."

Phew😅, another chapter is gone.
