Chapter one

Two Worlds Apart. Opposites Attracts.

The word happiness has no meaning to me as far as I can remember, it is just a façade.I am not happy; I wouldn’t describe myself as such. Deep down I know it, but I can never say it out loud.Maybe I wasn't mentally ready to admit it to myself, or maybe I wasn’t ready to give up on myself just yet. But the truth is that I am sad, broken and alone.With my mind full of thoughts, I walk down the road to my apartment and put in the pass code to open the door.“Mphh” I sigh as I take in the silence.

I walk to my wardrobe; open it and take out the board.My revenge board.I begin marking out places from the map, finding someone after 6 years will be no easy feat. I cross out all the places I was certainly sure he wouldn’t be in since I had done my thorough research.“Damn you Devon!” I curse to myself. “Are you insane? Even if you do find him, how would you know it's him?” With just a mental picture of his eyes, it would be a hard task.“FUCK!!!!” I scream out in frustration. I have to find him- I need to; he has to pay; he has to fucking pay! All the stress weighing me down, I walked to my bathroom and took a cold shower. I dressed up in sweats, took my computer, and began my research.

At least I had a few clues to go on. I knew he was part of the Blood Moon Mafia, the most dreaded mafia group in New York. I was filled with so much anger and nothing would stop my resolve of getting my revenge, even if it meant he had to die. I will stop at nothing, to make sure he regrets everything he ever did to me.  Grrrrr! my phone vibrated, snapping me out of my trance. It was Alexa, my  best friend of four years. She was an angel, but she was fierce. I wouldn’t dare cross her."What’s up?" I asked answering the call."Idiot! You were supposed to meet me outside after the training you nutjob!" she screamed into the phone making me wince in pain."I am sorry Lex, when I came out, you weren't there so I thought you had left without me" I wasn't lying, I didn't see her when I came out, but I had forgotten about our arrangement."You fucking idiot! that's because our training centers are on two different locations. I was on my way  to you and now am drenched in rain because I have been waiting for you for over an hour.

""Well, you did need a bath so......". I jokingly said and regretted it immediately. There was silence for 5 secs. Then I heard it.  "Hey Devon? Do you really need your nuts? I’m going to crush them the next time I see you" she sarcastically asked. But I could feel the threat in her tone. "Listen babe, no need to get mad” I  apologetically said, fearing for my life, I mean you would be a fool not to be scared of Lex, I think the devil is too."DEVON TROY RAID! get your ass back here this instant!" Without wasting a second, I was back on the road to go meet her. When I reached the training center, I couldn’t find Alexa."What the actual fuck Lex" I cussed out loud.Taking out my phone, I began dialing her number and before I could  finish placing the call, I was forcefully pinned to the wall and not in the fun romantic way.

"Lex!" I cried out as the pain I felt in my shoulders, slowly moved to my hands making them numb. "Next time you forget that I am an important part of your life I'll end you, got it?" She sternly said."Crystal, I got it" I answered. My tone low with fear, I raised my hands in surrender. She let me go, taking my hands and dragging me along like she had not threatened to end me a few seconds ago."So, any new leads?" She asked excitingly"Well, let's just say I ruled out two more places today, which makes my chances of getting to him slimmer.”"Hmm! I can't wait to kick some killer ass for real!""Don’t you think I should be more excited than you?" I inquisitively asked."Of course, you should be!" She answered with a smug smile.

I rolled my eyes at her response, but deep down I knew she would give anything to see me happy.We are standing waiting for the bus when I hear a beeping sound, I look around trying to pinpoint where the sound was coming from.
When I realized what it was, in a split of a second, I grabbed Alexa and pushed her down with me.BOOM!!!!!!
