Baby Kenny

Chapter 3

Willem and his wife sat next to each other on the couch and held each other for a few minutes. Upon pulling apart Martha said "I must admit that went better than expected. I thought we would probably be driving him back to the bus stop. So I am really pleased that he was so agreeable and accommodating. I feel a little bit guilty for putting him in that position, but after watching his reaction I get the impression that he actually likes being treated this way." She told Willem.

Willem kissed her deep and hard and then replied "Babes in all the years I have known Kenny, he has always been prone to others taking control of him. That is also why we were so close from a very young age. Growing up I was the one he would come to for comfort and protection. I knew then already that he was the type of person who wanted someone to take control for him. His folks were not very nice people, and they were really oblivious to his needs. That's why he spent all his time at our house. Then when we went our separate ways after college, it worried me when he had to be on his own. Even his boyfriends took advantage of his disposition. All he has ever wanted was someone to love him unconditionally. That is also why I suggested to you that we have him come stay with us for a while, so we can give him what he craves. I knew he would be open to being treated like a baby, to give him a chance to feel what it really feels like to be a baby again, only this time round he can experience what his parents were unable to give him. Also as far as he is concerned he believes that he is helping us getting over the loss of our baby."

"I am just a little worried that I am not going to be able to let him go back to his own life after the three months." Martha said. Willem chuckled and then said to his wife. "Then it is up to us to make him understand that this is where he really belongs. I am almost a hundred percent sure that by the end of the three months he won't want to leave." Willem then said to her, "but on a more serious note I wanted to find out how you feel about turning the nursery into a nursery for Kenny." Martha caught her breathe in her throat but then she broke out into a huge smile. "Willem Peter's you are an absolute genius." She giggled and showered her husband with a hundred kisses all over his face. " We can go online and order an adult size nursery. That way when he sees that it is his very own nursery he won't want to leave."

" I know for a fact that my mother will be super willing to help you decorate his nursery. She knows all about what our intentions were for Kenny. In fact she was the one who suggested that we do this for him." Martha's mouth dropped like a stone from shock at this bit of news. She recovered very quickly and slapped her husband's chest lightly, "Why am I only hearing about this now?" she enquired. "Well I didn't want to get your hopes up and then you be disappointed if he rejected us "

Just then they heard a car engine getting louder as it came up the driveway. "Good right on time," Willem laughed as he saw his wife's expression, but before he could answer she saw that the vehicle belonged to Willem's folks. Martha jumped up and ran outside to meet them. By the time Willem came outside Martha and her mother in law were shrieking and hugging each other. Martha then said in a hushed voice, Kenny is taking a nap after his bus trip. Martha hugged her father in-law Piet. Then she took Mabel by the hand and they both disappeared into the house heading to where Kenny was sleeping. Willem turned to his father and after giving him a hug, he said "Hi pa, do you want to come and see our guest?" Piet replied "after we unload his new present. I Just finished it yesterday." Willem cocked his head at his father questionably but Piet only smiled and lifted the tarp covering the back of the bakkie. When he lifted the covering he and Willem lifted a wooden structure off the bakkie. Piet was grinning widely by now at the expression on his sons face. They carried the structure into the house to the lounge. Piet went about opening up the structure and clipping everything into place did Willem realize that it was an adult sized play pen.

Piet then laughed as he said " now your new baby will be right where you leave him."

Willem hugged his father and said " Oh pa it's so beautiful. How did you manage to keep this from me." It's my way of showing you son that I support you and Martha with your new baby. I just want you guys to be happy and I will do anything I can to help. I have and always love you my boy."
