Two very busy weeks had passed, during which Martha and Mable, had finished with the décor for the new nursery, Willem and his father grew impatient with their wives, they kept changing the design of the nursery, and then changing it back the way it was. Piet and Willem banned them both from entering the nursery until the furniture arrived.

Willem, Martha and Kenny had all stood up very early one morning and had just finished having breakfast, when they saw, his father pull up to the farmhouse driving the flatbed. Willem could see that his father was very excited, and carried on just like little kid on Christmas day. Martha invited everyone inside for an early mornings coffee, but Piet stepped in the doorway and said. "No coffee yet, unload into the nursery first then coffee will be served. Martha looked at Piet but decided to let it go.

Willem and Piet were already loosening the restraints from the furniture. Soon all the items on the truck was ready to brought inside.

Suddenly large crib was lifted off the flatbed and which quickly made it way to the nursery. Willem and his father leading the way. It was placed into the new nursery, Martha and Mable were already busy setting up the linen for the crib. Within ten minutes the nursery was now finally ready to receive it's occupant. While everyone were admiring the new nursery Willem walked into the nursery with Kenny sitting on Willems hip. His eyeballs were expanding at an alarming rate when saw how beautiful his very own nursery was. He was so enthralled by what was before him, his emotions soon overwhelmed, when tears started gushing down his face. Kenny became aware that every pair of eyes in the nursery was now fixed only on Kenny. This was just too much to deal with. Willem felt Kenny tightening his arms that were wrapped around his neck, and then Kenny buried his face into Willems neck, and burst out crying. His whole body shook from the power of his sobs. Willem was like a streak of lightening as he sat down on the mattress of the now open crib. He rocked Kenny gently and held him tightly to his chest "Daddy is so sorry that he put all that horrible pressure on his baby boy. Daddy should have showed baby his nursery with just the two of us. Willem looked at all people still standing around in the nursery, Piet snapped out of his shock and began ushering everyone out the nursery, he closed the door as he exited the room, turned around to see Martha and Mable standing in front of him. They both looked very worried. Piet took each ones hand and led them to the kitchen. Martha filled the kettle up and switched it on. Mable was taking all the coffee mugs from the cabinet above the stove and set them down the counter. Martha also placed almost full tin of coffee next to the mugs, turned around and retrieved a large square tupperware container and also placed it next to tin of coffee. Mable opened a new 2lt bottle of milk and put it next to the other items that they had just gathered.

The two woman sat down, while the kettle was warming up. Slowly the kitchen began fill up.

"We all should have seen this happening. The problem is that when we look at Kenny we are still seeing him as a full, normal functioning adult, when in actual fact we must start to see him as a totally helpless infant who is now unable to deal with everyday pressures as we as adults are." All the other people standing around the kitchen were listening very intently to Piet. At the moment Willem I suspect is the only one of us who truly sees Kenny as a real infant. He has had years of experience in seeing, Kenny the same way Kenny sees himself." Mable leaned into plant a kiss on her husband's lips , stoked his cheek lovingly with her long well manicured nails.

Smiling at him she said him. "smart and handsome. I think that if we all make a proper effort I am sure that before long we will also see Kenny the same way Willem and Kenny sees Kenny.

Two weeks ago when Steven asked Eric to bring his flatbed to collect their donated nursery furniture , he wasn't sure how to deal with the strange way this family was making a new way of living their lives.
