The second half of the castle is indeed even more beautiful than the first. The cavernous entryway is decorated in gold, black, blue, and white, the colors of the school. I make my way to the right after seeing a sign that says "high school freshman to the right."

After following the corridor that branched off with signs of different species, I finally got to the mermaid corridor which splits off into boys and girls. Eventually, I get to my dorm room, though, and guess who is inside? I have freakin' Chloe Aequor in my dorm. Yep, my arch enemy and I, along with two other girls, will have to share a room for a whole year. Great.

The other two girls are at least somewhat manageable, though. Gretel Lusky who has a bright shade of green hair that matches her annoyed eyes chose the bed next to Chloe and furthest away from me.

I think the girl nearest to my bed and between me and Chloe is named Amber. I don't know her last name, though. Her hair is also waist-length like everyone here it seems and her bright red locks flow down her shoulders as she sits on her teal comforter. Her eyes bare into me, a deep emerald green, while freckles are spattered along her nose. Her gaze is slightly unnerving as she sits unmoving. This will be so fun.

"Hi. I'm Amber Fretum. You must be Cora Blue. It's nice to meet you," she greets. Well, now I know her last name.

"It's nice to meet you too." I try to sound confident, but it still ends up coming out as a whisper. I just want to go see Lyra. "Do you know if we are allowed to go see some of our other friends before lunch?"

"Well, I hope so because I don't think I can spend another second with you and your salt breath" Chloe exclaims. Her blond hair is put in a high ponytail that looks menacing. Today, she seems to be taking a break from her usual pink since she is in a lilac long sleeve tucked into a deep purple skirt. Simple, for her standards.

"Well, I was just asking because I need to get away from you and your superior attitude."

"I only have a superior attitude because I am superior to you."

"Yeah. The only thing you are superior to are sea sponges because at least you have a brain even if it is as small as a peanut." With that, I strut out of the room, my hair whipping around as the door closes with a thud behind me. Conversation over.

After making my way through the castle, I finally get to Lyra's room. I knock and the door opens. I'm met with a gigantic hug and a face full of white hair. For elves, hair says what social class you belong to. Hair is the highest status while black is the lowest with different shades of brown being the middle class. Even though Lyra is a high elf, she and her family are the loveliest people I have ever met. They are much better than the snooty high elves that act like they run the place and can trample everyone in their path. Lyra's full name is Lyramaral Parkineze, but while other high elves keep their given names to show status, Lyra decided to shorten hers like every female in her family has. Almost as a statement that says that even though they are high elves, they don't need to showcase their power and wealth to everyone.

I hug Lyra back as a voice comes through the loudspeakers. "Welcome back high school and college students. I hope you enjoyed your summer vacation. Please join us in the Dining Hall for lunch and schedules."

"Are you ready to go?" I ask my best friend.

"Yep. Let's go meet the rest of the student body."
