Homework Headache

Una stared at the dreaded sheet of paper in disgust. She was given her maths homework by her grumpy teacher who wasted no time moving on to their next victim. Una contemplated just shoving the sheet in her mouth and eating it but she worried that it would give her intestines a papercut (That's what Nash made her believe anyway)

She could probably ask one of the Fire Elementals to burn it for her but she knew Nash would clip her in the back of her head and his hits hurt badly since the orc did boxing in his spare time.

The next thought she had was to just not do it and then tell the teacher that her little brother ate it (Which is likely but as if the teacher would believe it). Una's final straw was to just run away and live in the mountains, meet a cute werewolf who liked to look at sunsets, get married and start a family with said werewolf, get divorced, get remarried after careful reconsideration, grow old together and die...

Nash stared at the moth girl with an unimpressed look. Even with her far-away expression, he could still tell what she was thinking and honestly he was tired. Is this what it would be like to be a father? Constantly worried about whether or not your child can even survive with their lack of concentration skills? Nash has never really considered having kids but he was definitely getting tons of practice with Una and his other friend, Ollie around. Monday, he had to smack a bay leaf out of Una's hands as she was about to eat it. Tuesday, he had to scoop Ollie up with a small shovel when he lost his shape due to a mishap in the lunch hall. Saturday, he had to pull Una back from the road before she got squashed by a bus and those were only a few things he has to do.

Nash felt himself roll his eyes and poked one of Una's wings to try and get her attention. It didn't work so he resorted to tugging on her antennae.

Una swatted Nash's green hand away as she stared at him with an annoyed pout and whined "Owww" Nash sighed "I'll help with the homework you pest, you don't have to consider running away with the circus" Una's eyes glowed with excitement "I've never thought of that one before! It must be so cool being a clown..." Una let herself trail off along with her thoughts as Nash examined the worksheet that she was given.

Nash grunted in annoyance. He remembered Una's mum calling the school, asking if Una could get easier work or at least extra help since she was struggling so much with the work she was being given. Headmaster Carbonne said that he would take it into consideration but it had been at least a month and there had been no change.

"Okay, how about we just do some of this in school and I can come over to yours tonight and help you do the rest? Uh, Una?" Nash snapped his fingers in front of Una's face "Oh sorry, I was thinking about the clown thing. What were you saying?" she asked "Just that we should try and do half of your homework in school and half of it at home? That sound good to you?" Una nodded her head, her fluff moving with her.

The next lesson that Una had was drama. She really loved her drama teacher. She was a sweet older Elf woman with grey dreadlocks that she always kept in a bun and a voice that had the ability to make anyone feel safe. Unfortunately, neither Nash nor Ollie were in Una's group but her teacher made up for that with her fun lessons.

Una liked this specific teacher for one reason and one reason alone; she was never impatient with her. She never yelled and she was never cruel whenever Una lost her focus, when she asked obvious questions or when she didn't understand the assignment. Her name was Mrs Heledan and she was a cool teacher. 10/10.

Una entered the classroom with a calm feeling. It was the complete opposite of what she felt in her maths classroom. Una had gotten there early so there were only a few people in the classroom before the rest came barreling in. In the room, there was a little space by the entrance door so that students could set their things down and in the middle, there was a clean, spotless green carpet with a few pillows scattered around and just behind there was a small stage, a box of props and a few blue plastic chairs. At the front was Mrs Heledan's desk, it was very organised with every little thing in its place but scattered around the dark brown wood were little notes, stickers, drawing etc. from all of her previous students. It was quite cute honestly.
