Dax and I were back to back. We were completely numb to everything else my gun was out and read to take deadly aim. I remember someone's voice unfamiliar yet familiar saying "Remember Boy don't ever ever aim yo gun at nothin if you ain't planning to kill it". I lower my gun slowly taking it sights and sounds. Sound over the smell of Fresh strawberries I smell Something burning like flesh being burned. In the distance I see it. A mass of randomly assorted limbs and loose parts. An amorphous blob of things that shouldn't be together. I'm panicking I'm scared. I don't know what to do. I'm shaking. I don't want to die.And then suddenly Dax turns around lands a firm punch into the center of whatever that thing is. The blob took deep steps back and suddenly my fear burnt away like a wild fire.

Dax continued to lay barrage of punches until the mask of things had been on the ground. I pulled Dax back and lead a to finishing blows on the thing. "What you pussy out for? Never hurt something before" " I think you forget I'm not even half as reckless as you.But better news WHAT THE FIDDILIY DAMN FUCK IS THAT?!" I scream.

"I don't know it looks like a mass of random shit put together. It don't matter bitch but I'm picking some berries and getting the fuck outta here I'm not go with fights where there's a lot of shit in the way." He's right. I could have handle that fight easily and he was so quick to kill it that it rubbed me the wrong way. We picked berries by the bunches and kept them with our frozen foods. We made it out the forest and to a meadowlands with a ton of flowers. We decided it was best to rest here I set up our large tent and Dax set up some fire wood and started roasting some fish we caught in a lake down by the bay. We shared happy stories. "I remember when my me-maw would yell at me for picking her apples a season early. Me-maw hates green apples but I loved em. So finally me-maw don planted me a tree just for my self. She said 'There you go ya brat I've gotten yous ya own apple tree. Pick yur apples as early as ya like leave the rest of the stock to me and Pop pop.' And I remember planting that tree in the ground and growing it from the ground up and when it finally sprouted fruit I was happiest boy in town." I shared lovingly.

Dax listened attentively. "Damn dude you cook Cod the way my dad does. I loved When my dad made fried Cod." " you don't really talk about yur family that often. Could ya share a bit?" I asked leaning forward. Dax sat back a bit. Thought about his words carefully. "Fine but I'm only sharing the good parts. As you may or may not know my dad is boxer. I loved watching him fight and watching him tussle with dudes bigger than him it was like watching a tiger pounce prey way larger than it. I used to be fumbling little bitch. I remember my parents had a video of me running from my own shadow. So I wanted to be brave. I wanted to be strong like my dad. He taught me how to fight he taught to face all adversity big and small. For myself, for my family, for others. I loved those moments where I was pumping iron with my dad and laying punches of absolute fury against a punching bag. Christmas arrives and Unlike most children who wake there parents my parents always woke me up first. So my dad violently tickles me awake and I wake up kicking and screaming out of sheer joy. He picked me took me downstairs. I opened all of my presents except for one. It was a small box but what I opened was 10 times bigger than anything I'd ever received. They were these premium tough boxing gloves I wore them wherever I could. My parents couldn't drag them off of me. I wore them even when I was dared to fall down A mountain. I wore these gloves." "Aww shucks that's so darn cute Dax" "Shut up"

We shared stories until the night grew old. We laid down in our tent and slept till morning. I got up and my back was killin me. I unzipped our tent and started cooking some food and Dax woke up sleepily and started eating and drink hot water of which he spat out immediately. "Why is spicy" "it's boiling hot dog water" he looks like he's ready to cry. After we get ready we head up the mountain path and continue walking. We met a bunch of crows, snakes, and a mountain lion of which left us alone because we rescued her baby from a pack of crows. She even let us pet her which was nice. But finally we reached the top of the mountain and we're faced with another mass of flesh and guts. "Ugh another one of those gross things" "wait" the thing is wailing like a mother searching for her children."Listen she's..crying" We listen. "Crying are you sure?" "Yes look at her. She is wearing purple we don't have to kill her like the other one." I gently push the woman to the other corners of the room. "M̴y̸ ̷b̸a̴b̴i̴e̷s̷!̴P̸l̸e̶a̵s̸e̴ ̸h̶e̵l̵p̶ ̷m̷y̷ ̸b̴a̸b̴i̶e̵s̵!̸" "yes ma'am I'll help you however I can we're just here to look around for now but whatever I can"

We look around and we look down a gigantic hole it is literally to deep to see to the bottom. "should we try going down?" "Nah gimme one of ya bullets I wanna see something." I oblige and give him one of my bullets.

Dax take it and throws it down and waits. We wait 5 minutes until we hear a small silent clink. "Will die. That's way more 150 meters hell if the bullet hadn't made a sound I'd thought the damn thing was fucking infinite." "We're turning back ain't no way I'm killing my self trying to jump down no god damn hole."
