Chapter 4 (The Charmer 🖤

I was helping wash dishes when one day I decided to go look for Dax and James to bother them. "Ay G where's the boxing maniac and The wild Wild West?" Those were my witty little nicknames for them. I'd always tease them for being so cliché.

G looks nervous when trying to answer my question ,as though formulating the words was a chore. "They went out for a walk" "bullshit haven't seen box boy and sherif in 3 days so cough it up! I can tell your lying Doc." "What is with you kids being so damn vulgar? Anyway like I said I haven't seen them in a while myself." He is holding his laptop down. Slightly more shaky and his composure is completely shattered. I've learned that when I'm trying to get something I want I have to hone in on one specific and see his I can get it. Usually this doesn't work ,but when your in danger it is way more effective. I walk up to G and pull him from under the table and look at the laptop. "so what's this?" "Please don't make this a big deal damnit!" "Nah don't worry about it I am going now though. No way am I missing a opportunity to explore.". I go up to my room and grab my stuff. And rush out to my bike. I recognized where Dax and James were perfectly. The old mountain way passed the bay and the dark forest lining to follow. I had to be there and I even knew a another way into the mountain.

I guess it took those losers 3 days to get there because I was able to bike all the way there non-stop until I made it to mountain path. I walked my bike up the mountain and when I go there James and Dax had set up camp and weee sleeping inside blissfully unaware that I was even there. So of course I did the sensible thing and woke them up. "WAKE UP" the tent rattled and rumbled with moving feet and the sound of broken glass. "YOU FUCKING IDIOT YOU MADE US BREAK THE DAMN LAMP" Dax yelled back "wut" James managed to say in the midst of sudden confusion. "Yo I brought this extra rope." "Did you bike all the way here?...god I have a hard time believing you are human..." James says from inside the tent. The two open the tent and come to greet with closed arms. They were fearful and hesitant to speak "What the hell is wrong with you dude? It way to late to be screaming" "I know a way in." There eyes focus on me with full concentration. They have there thoughts focused on me. We pushed ideas passed each other and they were pleasantly surprised by my knowledge!...

Not really. They were just more like "Thanks dude." And then walked away. Dax tied three ropes together and I became confused. "What are you doing?" "I'm tying these 100 meters ropes together and I'm going the long way. I'm sure it'll help us to know more." He ties the rope around his waist. And then ties it to a rock. "Before y'all go look around the mountain do me a favor and lower me down" he says and We listen.

I grabbed the rope and James grabbed the rope. Dax slowly lower him self down and we held the rope tight. We lowered him down and down and down and down. Then the rope stopped and we looked over and the rope lead to infinity. But at least we know that he isn't dead. I looked at the rope left over and I roughly measured that we used 210 meters of the rope which means that the drop is 210 , definitely dangerous. I lead James to the hole I crawl in to get inside. "This is a way safer way into the mountain I've been working here for a while and have made it into a makeshift slide" I say removing a bush and sliding down. I quickly move out of the way to allow James a way down.

James falls most of the way down. "How'd you managed to tumble down like a tumble weed?" "I fell down leave me alone." He pats him self off straightens his hat and makes sure he has everything. "Now getting down is definitely the easy part but being able to safely navigate this place is the hard part. Have a weapon drawn and don't show fear" "Oh shut up...yur not serious though right?" I stare him in the face not changing my demeanor whatsoever and his face changes the previous joking tone. I draw Excalibur and slowly navigate through the halls. It's dark and suddenly I feel like trying to impress someone "Hey James wanna see a magic trick" "uh ain't we sposed to be explorin'?" "Yeah but watch this. Look at that lantern down the hall." James stares at the lantern. I point to the lantern and light the candle from afar with a Blue flame that gently dances around the candle wick. The flame illuminates most of the hall and even going as far as to Illuminate the rest of the candles.

"Now how in the hell did you do that?" "G taught it to me. He said that due to my family having monster and human origin I can sorta use magic! Isn't that cool bro?" I say staring him down. "Wait humans and monsters can make babies??" "Uh yes and no. I was a test tube baby and was created with the dna of a monster and a human. Which makes the whole family thing a bit unethical. Which I believe is one of many reasons humans and monsters went to war." I say moving down the hall slowly. As we continues down the long branching hall we are heard two things arguing or yelling. As we moved and crept closer the arguing became less and less clear. They sounded like the same person arguing about something but the words were unclear and unkind mangled in a distorted type of fashion and it all lead to a single door that is completely boarded up. "We're going in there" James said walking to the door.
