"Hey, Souya, can you move those cups off of the desk?" I ask my brother, who was sitting comfortably on his bed. I'm currently freaking out right now because Makayla is supposed to come over in five minutes.
"No, but you can do it yourself," the blue-haired bastard shrugs, and I roll my eyes at him.
"Why do you insist on making things a big deal?"
"The cups are on your side?!"
"But I'm the one doing all the cleaning?"
"I don't care if you're doing all the cleaning? It's all your mess!"
"But it would be quicker to clean if we did it together,"
"Why would I need to clean? I don't have a girl coming over?"
"She's not some girl; it's Makayla. And besides, mom told us to clean."
"No, mom told you to clean because you're a messy pig!"
"Do you want me to come over there?"
"And do what? It's not like you'll hurt me, anyway. Plus, mom will get mad at you,"
"Whatever. You're only saying that because you're the spoiled youngest chi—"
"What's going on in here?" a voice says and I turn around to see Makayla.
MAKAYLA
"Ohhh, heyyy, Makayla. I- when did you get here?" Nahoya says, hiding cups behind his back.
"Like...five minutes ago?"
"So...you heard everything?"
"Yep! And you don't have to hide those cups anymore. I know they're there."
He drops the cups on the floor and glares at Souya, who looks at him with an innocent expression.
"Sorry about that, Makayla. You ready to start working on our project?" I nod, and an awkward silence fills the room. "Souya...you gonna leave or...?"
"Oh, you want me to leave?" he asks, and Nahoya nods his head. "Well too bad. You can find somewhere else to read, because I'm already comfortable."
"Why are you being so difficult today?"
"Why are you being so annoying?"
