You know what they all say
After graduation day
It's never the same
Your childhood is over
You're becoming older
Maturing, and preparing for life
You may be a wife, or marry a wife
Or neither
You may have kids, you may not
And that's ok too
We all have different journeys and paths
Some good at English, others Math
But maybe neither
And that's ok as well
You may be able to work with your hands
Fix a kitchen sink, and plant seeds on your land
We all have a purpose
To make our mark on the world
And we're all special
Possessing nothing but potential
We need to always support each other
And forevermore love one another
And fight for equity
And overcome any perplexities
And maintain integrity
Moreover, kindness is a necessity
Love others, and you'll receive love
These are the things I've learned
After graduation day
You know what they all say
The older you get, the wiser you become
And I believe that wholeheartedly
Because I've lived it
I graduated June 3rd
I learned these things after graduation day
