The girl in the alleyway

Chapter 6

I scrambled up off the mattress and ran for my life like a rat getting chased by a cat.I ducked past the window and ran down the street towards the bus stop.I had my phone and the note in my hand and sprinted to the bus stop with just that.I looked back to see Kate in the window doing an amazing job distracting my parents.they were so interested in her mime show it was hilarious.she looked out the window to see me almost around the corner to the bus stop.She winked at me and got back to distracting my parents.I smiled and just arrived at the bus stop.I was earlier than usual so I had to wait a couple minutes for the bus to arrive.The bus finally showed up and i was first on board.I was so scared I had never snuck out before in my life.I could feel my heart pounding like never before.It sound like the beat of the drum so I just imagined I was playing them and that kept me calm for most of the bus ride.I stared out the window as the bus slowly drove away I was scared to what might happen but I kept myself calm and focused on the fact that I needed to get to that address.

About 25 minutes later the bus arrived just outside of town and I quickly got off.People stared at me weird wondering why a little 13 year old was taking the bus to somewhere out if town by themselves.I just ignored them and stepped off.I looked at the note and back at the building in front of me.I looked and it seemed to be the right address.But why would he want me to go to an old abandoned apartment out of town?I looked around and there was none here but somehow it felt like everyone was here.I was scared but I took a step inside the building.Squeak! My sneaker hit the hard lino floor and loud stomp echoed around the entire apartment building.It was loud so if the mysterious man was here he would have heard me.I listen out for any tiger sounds but I hear nothing.The apartment building looks old and rust has set in on all the edges.It looks like a fire broke out in here years ago.The walls are black and wood planks and nails are everywhere.It used to be a 3 story building with fresh looking apartments and newly put in carpet.Now it looks nothing like when it first opened.I decide to see if anyone is in here." Hello!" I say in the most shakiest voice.I hear a deep growl behind me and i jolt around.A large vicious looking german shepard is slowly coming towards me.i stand as still as possible but it inches even closer.I close my eyes in fright thinking that this would surely be the end of me but to my surprise he started licking my leg." hey hey there stop that it tickles".I start laughing uncontrollably." Hey okay okay you can stop now stop it" I said to the cute dog.He stops licking me and i pat him gently.He cuddles up into me." Oh you poor thing " I said."Who left you out here all alone huh? Who abandoned you;oh your so cute" I told him." I think I'm going to name you?"What about fluffy".He jumps up in excitement."Oh you like that name so do I"."your so adorable but I have to go".He looks sad and scratches at my feet."you've been abandoned to many times and I Can't just leave you here plus I need protection science Kate's not here yet" I told him." actually let me message Kate now to see where she's at.I check my phone but I already have a message in there.It's from Kate.Hey sorry I can't make it your parents are getting suspicious and I have to keep playing the voice recorder.Plus they are making me do so many acts and won't let me leave.I was only able to get this message to you because I told them my nana was calling.Anyways I have to go but I hope your safe and you finally know why you got that note.Sincerely Kate.No I was going to have to do this alone.I didn't want to do this alone what if something happened I needed Kate to go through with this plan.I needed her.Fluffy saw that I was anxious and snuggled up to my legs.I pet him gently.I remembered that I made my way through that alleyway with that creepy old man,I made it to this address by myself and showed up and I did that all of that without Kate by my side.I didn't need her to go meet him I could do it by myself and plus I had fluffy with me.He would protect me if anything goes wrong.
